Warming yes. But that's what climate does. It shoots up and down. The question why is beyond current science. The models from ten years ago don't match the climate of the last ten years.
Imagine what would have been claimed if the medieval warm period was happening now. When they were growing grapes as far north as Sheffield.
And imagine all of the theories that would be coming out, if we were having something like the little ice age, and the Thames was freezing over, and they were holding fairs on the ice every year?
There would be climate models closely matching it all, and doom and gloom. Both eras righted themselves without any input from man. And there is no reason to suppose that this one won't as well.
As far as who gets paid for what and by whom, you have to remember that climate science is a huge employer now. Very few of those people would have their jobs, if it wasn't for the AGW theory.
There are vested interests on both sides of the argument.
