The world's longest under-sea electricity cable, transferring green power between Norway and the UK, has begun operation.
The 450-mile (725km) cable connects Blyth in Northumberland with the Norwegian village of Kvilldal.
At full 1,400 megawatt capacity it will import enough hydro-power to supply 1.4 million homes, National Grid said.

Now about Sahara solar to Europe.....
Wont happen for the UK. With Brexit they pulled out of the power agreement.

Power Purchasing Agreement Regulation in The EU
Impact of Brexit

As of Summer 2019, the U.K. has a relatively flexible set of corporate PPA regulations, when compared with most EU countries. It represents a relatively well-developed market.

However, as with so many aspects of Brexit, the position of the U.K. in relation to growing its renewables landscape is uncertain. Whether the U.K. will design its own equivalent to the EU Fourth Energy Package, opt for something else entirely, or try to maintain the EU approach through a transition period is a complete unknown at present. This could have implications for Traders and Investors, leaving the future of corporate PPAs in the U.K. in a grey space.

REGOs are one example of the problems likely to be faced. Ofgem has confirmed that the U.K. will continue to issue REGOs and accept Guarantees of Origin from EU member states after EU Exit Day. However, the EU has stated that if the U.K. exits without a deal, REGOs issued in the UK will no longer be recognised by EU member states. This suggests that the U.K. would like to maintain the current status quo, but will need to find a method that appeases Europe over transparent REGO verification. Should that become the case for every component of legislation, the administrative and bureaucratic burden will be enormous, which will undoubtedly have a knock-on impact, restricting business flows in the private sector.

Corporates, Investors and other interested parties use Pangea’s network to get access to the most up to date information on PPA developments. Our Experts help our clients by shedding light on the current framework for PPAs and helping them anticipate progressions in the market ahead of the curve.
In other words the UK is fucked again by Brexit.

Scientists Identify the Cause of Alzheimer’s Progression in the Brain – Very Different Than Previously Thought
By combining five different datasets and applying them to the same mathematical model, the researchers observed that the mechanism controlling the rate of progression in Alzheimer’s disease is the replication of aggregates in individual regions of the brain, and not the spread of aggregates from one region to another.

The results, reported in the journal Science Advances, open up new ways of understanding the progress of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases, and new ways that future treatments might be developed.

For many years, the processes within the brain which result in Alzheimer’s disease have been described using terms like ‘cascade’ and ‘chain reaction’. It is a difficult disease to study, since it develops over decades, and a definitive diagnosis can only be given after examining samples of brain tissue after death.

For years, researchers have relied largely on animal models to study the disease. Results from mice suggested that Alzheimer’s disease spreads quickly, as the toxic protein clusters colonize different parts of the brain.

“The thinking had been that Alzheimer’s develops in a way that’s similar to many cancers: the aggregates form in one region and then spread through the brain,” said Dr. Georg Meisl from Cambridge’s Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, the paper’s first author. “But instead, we found that when Alzheimer’s starts there are already aggregates in multiple regions of the brain, and so trying to stop the spread between regions will do little to slow the disease.”

I wonder what that stuff'll do for brain injuries.

:hehe: Won't work though. The ones that need it the most don't drink tap water because of fluoridation.

Do you lot still put fluoride and chloride in your water? We have not used that for years and fluoridation is illegal. If you want fluoride there are tablets.
