The Story of maths

Post by Geoff » Sun Jul 10, 2011 3:02 pm

BBC4 Tuesday 8.00

Could be good, it's presented by Marcus de Sautoy, who succeeded RD as Simonyi professor. He also presented "The beauty of diagrams", as well as quite a few Horizon episodes.

That's all I need to know. Next step, the TV Guide button and that wonderful "record series" feature.

Force? Force? If you have to force people to watch Marcus de Sautoy, then there is no hope.

Just found out it's a repeat, first broadcast in 2008, don't know how I missed it first time around!

Probably available on DVD now...

A better title would have been "the history of maths" I think, from the synopses I've seen. I don't think it'll get too technical, seems to be more about the discovery of important mathematical concepts.

Because it is short for Mathematics. Or do you call it Mathematic, or something? :tea:

Is this a repeat? I think i saw it a couple of years ago.
