Show us your digital ratio

Post by Faithfree » Wed Dec 01, 2010 2:20 pm

Your digital ratio, more specifically in this case the 2D:4D ratio, is the ratios of the length of the index to the ring finger of the right hand (apologies to amputees) measured from the bottom crease where the finger joins the hand to the tip of the finger.

A number of studies have shown a correlation between the 2D:4D digit ratio and various behavioural traits.

Right now, though if you're an accident prone butcher or carpenter, in might not be all that meaningful.

Derail: Another interesting "coincidence" is that your forearm is almost always the same length as your foot. /Derail.

It's 0.96 on the left hand. Both measured straight down the middle of the finger.

The bottom crease of my index finger is diagonal. Do I take the uppermost point, the lowermost, or the average? :dunno:

I took it down the centre line of the finger which should be the average.
