Human hair found in 200,000 year old hyena dung.

Not sure if this thread belongs here, but it does relate to our ancestors:

Strands of hair from a human who lived 200,000 years ago have been found preserved inside fossilised hyena dung from South Africa.

This is 20 times older than the previously oldest hair sample found. What will be interesting is the scientific analysis of the hair. There is so much that can be discovered about a person and their environment based on a hair sample.

The scientists think that the hair was from a body that was scavenged by a hyena after the humans death, however, it is also possible that that the human was actually hunted and eaten by the hyena which to my mind mind adds a much more dramatic spin on the story.
[ex]They now hope that future analysis of the hairs could help to shed light on exactly which species it came from, the colour of their hair and even the state of health of the person it came from.[/ex]

Seeings as there are people in this world who believe the world is less than 10 000 years old, I would love to know how they are going to explain this one.

I think the filter concept works if you allow for the fact that they will be anti-science and thus handicapped in the job market. The down side to that is do we really want these people in a hi-tech job like flipping burgers?

The money isn't coming from the market, it's coming from the backers of the theories, Discovery Institute, et al. They provide the funds to support these sites and pump out the propaganda. (Of course they get their funds in part from the schmoes who put money in the plate every Sunday.

There is so much that can be discovered about a person and their environment based on a hair sample.
After much careful analysis of the hair samples found we have concluded that this person was eaten by a hyena. It's only a theory though.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

The creationists will simply deny that the dung / hair is that old. It's what they always do. Deny that dating techniques work and blame a worldwide conspiracy of scientists who hate god!!!

Maybe they were using the dung as shamPOO.

Sorry.

Can we keep the derails to a minimum please? This is a science thread.

Thanks.
