Terminal boredom? Seems like most of the retired people I know are busier now than they were when they were working!

My father retired at 55, and lived to 83. He died of lung cancer after smoking for over 70 years. I do not smoke. I am 63, and expect to live to at least 90. My father had several non smoking brothers - all of whom lived to over 90. My mother died at 87, of an accident. Her only sibling lived to 105.

The 7 year figure does not apply to New Zealanders, anyway.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.
