Well, then, I suspect the whole thing will get sorted sometime early in the construction process.

The Japanese set the bar when they built Narita.

That was protests against Narita being built. The discussion was brisk, the rebuttals were heated.

Yep. "Bloody-minded" was invented in Japan.

I can't see the logic of an airport there.
It's ok for people east of london. Everyone else would find it a nightmare to get there.
Extend Heathrow is the obvious answer to the capacity problem. Fuck the noise problem. People knew there would be planes, when they bought their houses. And planes are less noisy now, than when most people moved in.
I would just leave the ship to rot. If you blow it up, there's no guarantee that it will all go off. In fact most of it won't.
So you just end up with unexploded stuff over a bigger area.
Perhaps they could cover it with sand, and then build a holding centre for asylum seekers there. It might be a bit of a deterrent to trying to enter illegally.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

A controlled burn might work. Pity that technology is still classified.

I'm amazed that commercial shipping and and other activity has gone all these years so close to the wreck, seeing how dangerous it is. I know there's an exclusion zone, but 1,400 tonnes of ordnance is a lot of oomph.
