Yeah? Why do you want us to think that?Clinton Huxley wrote:That's what they want you to think....Gawdzilla wrote:Crumple is seriously pulling some legs here, folks.

Is the CIA putting thought in my head? No, we're not! Don't be so paranoid... and you look silly in the tinfoil hat. You should stop wearing it. ![]() |
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

It bounced a little when they were installing it on the base pole. For some reason Newtonian physics was imported from Earth for that occasion. I told them not to, but they did it anyway.Crumple wrote: On the other hand that flag did move?

But, the flag didn't wave.Crumple wrote:Back to diagnostics. At 18s of the orignal flag waving vid you can see the astrounat hold the flagpole at arms length and being sideways to the camera he is quite clearly shorter than the flag. Here is one explanation that almost seems credible until you realise that a suddent directed jet of air would have altered the astronauts trajectory just like a nozzle jet on the space shuttle. This would have been taken into account in the design of any 'pressure release valve' on the suit and the force element dispersed with a back plate?

Re: OK conspiracy theorists - get out of this! Moon landings
Only two things bothered me when the conspiracy theory came out.
The first was how they filmed the take off, when they left.
They left behind a camera, and it successfully panned upwards, keeping the lander in shot.
And those pictures were somehow transmitted to the lander. ( I presume ).
At first sight, it seems impossible for the technology at the time. But I believe it's been debunked, though I don't know the details. It's odd that the camera panned upwards on some missions, but not on others :
First Apollo takeoff from the moon?
Apollo 15 takeoff from the moon
Apollo 17 takeoff
The second thing was why the video was of such poor quality. Given the budget, I don't know the answer to that, but I'm prepared to acknowledge that there were good reasons.
