Still waiting :
Arctic ice :

: Image

Antarctic ice :

: Image

After 60 years of high CO2 levels, and rising, the antarctic ice is exactly average.
How can that be, in such an overheating planet?? Maybe no-one has told them it should be melting. :funny:

The arctic ice HAS shrunk a bit. Nothing like what they forecast, but a bit. But maybe, that's down to the soot that we're dropping on it, 24/7, catching more heat from the sun, and reflecting less energy.
Anyway, the forecast was that the North Pole would be ice-free by now.

Therefore global warming is wrong?

A quick question: Do you understand the difference between 2D and 3D??

Global warming is always right. Until it starts cooling. It's always doing something. With or without our help.

No surprise you don't know the difference between area and volume.

I do know the difference between "free of ice" and an area of ice the size of Brazil.

Funny you don't hear any apologies for all of these ridiculous forecasts that the world has been fed over the years.

What pisses me off is that I'm going to be long dead, by the time we get any real benefits from global warming.

Renewable energy needs to be accompanied by a change in the pattern of consumption.

Arctic ice melt could trigger uncontrollable climate change at global level

Arctic scientists have warned that the increasingly rapid melting of the ice cap risks triggering 19 “tipping points” in the region that could have catastrophic consequences around the globe.

The Arctic Resilience Report found that the effects of Arctic warming could be felt as far away as the Indian Ocean, in a stark warning that changes in the region could cause uncontrollable climate change at a global level.

Temperatures in the Arctic are currently about 20C above what would be expected for the time of year, which scientists describe as “off the charts”. Sea ice is at the lowest extent ever recorded for the time of year.

“The warning signals are getting louder,” said Marcus Carson of the Stockholm Environment Institute and one of the lead authors of the report. “[These developments] also make the potential for triggering [tipping points] and feedback loops much larger.”

Naw, food productivity and overall plant biomass is up thanks to increased CO2 levels.

For the majority of greenhouse crops, net photosynthesis increases as CO2 levels increase from 340–1,000 ppm (parts per million). Most crops show that for any given level of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), increasing the CO2 level to 1,000 ppm will increase the photosynthesis by about 50% over ambient CO2 levels
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Maybe not that good after all. Greenhouse is not nature, and the article mentions only flowers. Here is something else: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... e-science/

This week there has been a study mentioned in the news, where they used the notes of people like Shackleton, and were able to reconstruct the Antarctic ice extent from a hundred years ago.
It was apparently identical to what's there today.

The explanation they tried to push? There's fewer people in the south. :funny:

It seems like in spite of all the weather and ocean systems swirling around constantly, heat doesn't travel south.
All we need is for the magnetic poles to flip.

Or could it be that there's no soot on the ice in the south? Naaaaah, too simple.
