Electrophoresis gel kit from ebay

Post by Dory » Sat Aug 28, 2010 9:20 am

Okay, I'm ordering one for sure. Can you help me find one on ebay? I mostly be looking to separate proteins and substances from plants. Can you guys recommend one that:

A) It looks fine from the details/picture
B) Not "too" pricy - it just needs to do its job. If I can get away with less than 100$ for a working one it's fine. I don't mind paying more if something is there.
C) The delivery price is reasonable

Also, if it looks really cool, I don't mind adding a bit more $ :D

On second thought buying that second-hand seems like a bad idea...I'd look at online first-hand stores

Forgotten all the details now, of course...

Heh. Awesome. Where's your kit? Is it still working? :P

;) I'll look for one in my home country I think. Shipping those heavy shit is costly.

All done in the University of Melbourne Zoology department as a honours year student, many moons ago...

Dory, I'd advise you to buy the box and the power pack separately (second hand if possible) and make your own gels from polyacrylamide/agarose.

Thanks Genes, I'll see what the science-lab supplier store has to say. Buying pricy, heavy stuff out of e-bay will result in the delivery costing a fortune, sadly. There's no second hand power packs in Israel.
