I don't know what planet they are on at JREF, ( whatever that is ) .
This sounds like a joke.
What machinery did they have for crushing limestone? Compared to crushing the limestone by hand, and remaking it, carrying blocks would be a doddle.
Assuming they didn't have huge powered crushing machines, they would have to do it by hand. How small could they crush it? If it was pebble sized, you would see the intact chips among the mortar. If they crushed it right down, the tiny shells would all be crushed. So it would be dead obvious, either way. So it clearly wasn't done that way. And couldn't have been anyway, given their technology.

Also, the blocks are cut to fit each other. If they were moulded, you would mould them to fit each other, or even to interlock.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
