Dumbest poll ever shows even dumber results!
The threat of technology is worth the comfort it brings ?.
Yes 10%
No 61%
Not Sure 27%
Wtf? I found that poll at the international open university http://www.iou.edu/
Let's retry that. Is there anybody in here who thinks the same?

Wow, so there are 61% of people at least who are content with living in caves, sure! Why not!

Well there is technology and then there's TECHNOLOGY! A leaky nuclear power station produces electricity which keeps us warm, but do you want the risk of a leaky reactor?
I am still surprised at the 61% though.

Fucking stupidly phrased question is the problem. Replace 'threat' with 'risk' and see the results change. I guarantee you.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Threat of technology:

"Clean up your room this instant or you can kiss the bronze age goodbye!"
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Agreed. What kind of threat, and to whom? I know people who are a threat with a rolled up newspaper. And others who should be standing on newspaper at any given time.

Isn't that the superdupermegacomputer that sent a physicist back in time to fine tune the Big Bang?Gawdzilla wrote:Quit bragging.Ian wrote:Skynet.Gawdzilla wrote:Agreed. What kind of threat, and to whom?("shiny toys"....

Those who are too scared of technology should be banned from using it. And medicine.

I think we went wrong as soon as we walked. Why aren't there still chimpanzees? I liked the group sex.
