Large males can develop a tentacle spread of 20 feet. Still a good deal smaller than Architheuthis or Colossoteuthis, though. :)

I was quite impressed by his self-censorship skills. I would envy them if I gave a shit what people think. Not sure what I would say if a large, male giant octopus invited me to spoon, but it probably wouldn't be appropriate for family documentary viewing.

Anyone else thinking about a basketful of garlic bulbs and chillis, a bottle of olive oil and a bottle or two of crisp, dry white?

And a very large BBQ?

If I remember correctly the method eventually chosen did involve the said ingredients, but the wine appears to have been red. :food: :td:

But what a spectacular beast in the You tube video, and doesn't appear aggressive. Hopefully, that one escapes the dinner table.
