The Nimrod MRA4 first production standard model flew Thursday 9/9/09 :woot:

We were all stood there in the glorious sunshine by the runway as the pilot took off, circled the airfield and dipped his wings to us as he did a fly-by :woot: :woot:

A little cheer went up from the crowd.

That AEW radome is an offence to humanity :nono:, hence the inclusion of that version in the "ugly aircraft" thread. Thankfully, the MR4A is a bit easier on the eye:
