We are not too far from talking to AI. It's rather stupid on Alexa, but in 5-10 we won't need to type much. Just dictate the words and edit if necessary. AI is already making phone calls and conning people.

We've had speech-to-text and text-to-speech software for a long time. You don't need AI for that. So why haven't you been using it for a decade already?

What we apparently want from AI is to use something like speech-to-text-to-speech to be able to give orders that meet our needs or whims pretty much instantly. An army of digital slaves.
