So you want to understand the quantum universe?

Post by Rum » Tue Jul 03, 2012 9:11 am

I picked up Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw's new(ish) book 'The Quantum Universe: Everything that can Happen Does Happen' a couple of days ago.

It isn't totally dumbed down and does require a bit of application, and the manner in which they try to explain the almost unexplainable makes it less obscure and counter intuitive than one might have believed.

Good stuff - I recommend it. And what's more its half price at Smiths at the moment in paperback!

I must have a look for it - perhaps they'll have it at our local library...

I have almost finished this book. Well worth a read if you are interested either in quantum physics or the history of science.

I can also recommend Cox & Forshaw's Why does E=mc2 - enough detail to whet ones appetite for getting to grips with the proper maths without putting off the numerophobic.
