My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic: Day 4

Post by Magicziggy » Mon Oct 31, 2011 12:50 am

I just can't be bothered with playing a game where winning would require simply not playing. I'm ruling out ksen. If he's got any history of this then let me know.
I have a working hypothesis. Oblivion is scum. My evidence us flimsy at best. The record shows that she has voted scum everyday. However, there maybe some pointers somewhere.i can only phone post at work and don't have a great deal of time to trawl through the other days.

I think his lack of presence over the weekend is role neutral. I've seen it happen when he is scum and town. I'm not sure if he's ever played by remote control, staying involved enough to put in kills. But, I have taken a couple of mafia breaks at TR and here. I could have missed something like that, but I think I would have heard about it.

In the mafia community, how is it considered when a player uses complete absence from the game as a tactic. Bad form or legitimate ploy?

bad form, though there's a tendency to adapt to it. and adapting to them basically perpetuates the behaviors.

I cannot fathom why UT would bus Bt. Does that make it the perfect scum move?

I'm leaning towards UT again. Feck was pretty sure it was a scum block.

I am who I said I am. we should lynch mono today, get rid of that kill and then start thinking if it's ob or mz who is the final scum. and considering mz and irre's early behavior I know which way i'll be going with that.
Looks like the scum ploy early was to keep me in the game and butter up. UT highlighting this is pinging.

The mention of a don looks like its supposed to bring about some game balancing calculations. Bussing the scum special now has a purpose.

Uselesstwit wrote:i've been thinking about this, mz i'm not a stupid player but for me to be scum i'd have to be. for me to be the scum roleblocker it would mean that yesterday, after my block revealed a likely sk candidate, instead of just letting that candidate get lynched by town, I decided to out. In the face of feck saying it felt like a scum block, and making myself a target to the sk. I then went on to save the sk from the lynch by putting my own teamate under the bus. the teammate that was immune to the sk no less. it would have been a game over move if mono had targeted me last night, I would never put a game into someone elses hands like that as scum, and you know this. either you are the last scum, or you fell into ob's trap.

ob, i'm not sure why you even need to think about it. mono is clearly the sk, ksen has to be either scum or vanilla. i can't imagine he's a special that bailed since that really doesn't seem like ksen, even though i know he's busy on the weekends. Surely as a special he'd at least make the effort to put in his actions. you know your role, so i guess the question is, are you a special, if not do you think town only had a seer?
this makes sense though!

Is there any scope for a scum special to have multiple roles. Ie protect / block ?

Seems that the logic of UTs position is infallible. Only a mechanism by which he can ensure the sk doesn't get him would make it crumble. But because he's made such a big deal of it, so am I.

anything is possible. the jack of all trades can be any alignment. http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?tit ... all_trades

a jack of all trades scum role would be wicked especially in a game this size.

What night are you thinking of?

idk ob, that still seems odd, since once again if i'm scum, scum would have 2 specials to towns one, against a three man scum team and probably and sk/inept vig. I can never really get a handle on how aza balances games, but that would be really unfair.

I want to see where MZ is going with this - what he thinks needs an explanation as far as night actions go.

Balance-wise it doesn't make sense to me, not given that the only town specials we know of are seer and roleblocker. this is an Aza game. I've been looking over my shoulder for a huge gotcha, but this doesn't look like the kind of gotcha I'd expect.
