ut - seer
msg - doc
linus - killed a scum
denny - killed a scum
Feck - mason, very very unlikely to be scum but ob does like to mess with roles sometimes.

irre - definitely working for town atm, could be our final lynch if killing one more scum doesn't end the game.

unfortunately even with this many cleared players there is still a big nebulous cloud because of how many people have so few posts.
I would still like Linus Viewed.
A day 3 bus of zigmen is not out of the question. Does look town though as they are getting low on scum.
I won't say it's impossible, but busing a scum special when in all likely hood there would be only one remaining? It's way down on the likelihood list. Getting rid of the prozzie is a huge win for town. Especially since we've lost no specials ourselves yet.

I find it strangely quiet. The last post on here, which was mine, was over five hours ago.

Very different for a Mafia Game.

Hey folks.

Just reading through what I missed.

Sucks we lost nelliken, but we've managed to get three scum so far, so I reckon we're still not doing too badly.

Can I just ask, is there some reason we're not supposed to reveal our roles? Someone (can't remember who) suggested I was scummy for wanting to make a list of roles. Maybe I'm too inexperienced here, but wouldn't you want to reveal your role if you were town? Seriously, if asking for roles makes me ping, I invite investigation by the seer if it will help ease anyone's mind. I've got nothing to hide. And surely the other townies wouldn't have anything to hide by revealing roles. :?

Knowing which players have special abilities, or even just being able to narrow down the field, is useful for scum when planning night kills.

Ah.
But we don't have to reveal special abilities. Just stating who we are, and which tribe we come from wouldn't give the scum much to work with, would it?

Look, anyway, if it's a bad idea, I'm happy to drop it. I suppose I thought I was helping.

Scum will have plausible safe claims, a good GM (of which oblivion is one) will make sure that town have some minor characters roles and that scum will have some major characters to use as safe claims.

If people reveal their roles scum know who to target and to block ,also revealing your role or name without proof (or close to it ) doesn't help anyone .Oblivion always gives Scum a safe name to claim in case there is a mass 'outing'

I revealed my role so early because it A: did not make me much target for scum and B: was easy to checkout and C: it wasn't a role that was any use after my Mason buddy was killed .

think about a Doc and a Seer outing ..the Doc cannot protect themselves so scum kill them first and the next night the Seer .

'fishing' for specials is a scum tactic ,if it's perceived that's what you are doing town will tend to lynch you .

.

if you are close to the gallows reveal your role you have nothing to lose and it may help town change their mind .

I thought that MSG did out himself as Doc and did protect himself on the first night. :?

Mostly Docs don't get to protect themselves in my example I was assuming that to illustrate the point

We should also bear in mind the possibility of Town being recruited to scum. It happened to me in my first game when I was subbed in for Linus, who was an outed seer.
