Sifaka!!! I should have KNOWN that the maid thing was suspicious. Wow, you and Irre have both really duped me in these games. You evil evil ladies.
Thanks so much Oblivion for running it!!

Ha...good game. Thanks Oblivion for doing such a great job, even if i didn't know what was going on for the first half and spent the second half trying to scramble to catchup without getting killed.

Mantis, if it makes you feel better, .... yesterday's lying made me feel awful....
As for the servant thing. I just picked up my copy of Dune, and came up with the most innocent and bland character I could find.....

I'd be quite interested to hear the reasons why & when people used their actions.
I protected Irre on night 1, as I figured the bad guys were more likely to target her after the noise ani made on the first day (either as a 2-1 in the hope that ani would get hung the next day if he was innocent, or to give him room to say things like "I'd not be so stupid to really go after her after I targeted her publicly if I was a real bad guy" if he was scum. Apparently that stopped her slitting a certain monkey right up the gizzard. I was going to protect 95Theses on night 2 as it seemed his power was a day power (?) and thus I wouldn't block him.

heh.
There would have been a Harah in the game if 1 or 2 more people had signed up. She was on my list of vanilla town characters. That could have been fun.

uh huh.
All good, I would have done the same!!
I was definitely suspicious at first, but you've got some very decent acting skills.

I don't think it was a matter of being too hard, I just think it's a bit more fun when people can have that option of bullshitting you behind the scenes, or make fumbling attempts to hook up.

Your protection went through, but 95Theses wasn't targeted on Night 2.
I was surprised scum went after you on night 2 instead of CookieJon. I guess they figured that either CookieJon or 99Theses would be protected and decided to skip both instead of taking a chance of the kill not going through.

Great game Oblivion, thanks for running it

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

It works ok for the people who hook up, but for the players who don't hook up/aren't cleared, PM games are pretty boring. They don't get access to the the behind the scenes stuff. The anonymous whiteboard play that you guys do compensates for that to a degree. It's not something I've seen in games played elsewhere. Something to think about for the next time I design a PMs-allowed game.

Thanks to all of you for taking a chance on a dark horse and playing the game! I had a lot of fun, and I enjoyed reusing a theme I've done before, albeit with a whole buncha modifications. I like doing SF-themed mafia games, and Dune is a great setting.

Definitely, so... you gonna run another game for us?

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

We're trying some new ideas to try and freshen things up for the more fringe players in the game Irre & I are going to run on ratskkep... starting in exactly one week. I'll post a link to the signup here as well when it goes up if people are interested.

It's my 2nd favourite "universe" behind Iain M. Bank's "Culture".
