still catching up with the thread
I thought I got a small sense of triangulation from your vote, because something about his post also bothered me. But, I can't seem to recreate my train of thought now. It wasn't the reason you say you had for the vote.
One of the less charitable interpretations that came to me was that rc intended to almost be a no-show, save for that post and voting for a no-show, which would be convenient. And that the question about randomization was prompted by ending up in some scum team that didn't feel random. (I think I prefer to return to this when it's clear what rc's participation level is, though I can sort of see how it could be enough for an early lynch vote with little else to go on.) Was your thought different from that too?

voting for no shows is not always a sign of an easy vote no -shows are A: sometimes scum (last game !!!) B: not helping town I tend to think Players who post very light on the first day are scummy but not always and it does help to have some history . for example If I post a lot on day one I tend to get lynched so I try not to talk too much on day one .

it was 2 am and I was full of codeine cough syrup, so reconstructing the thought train sucks. It was the question about random assignments that caught my eye.

Hi gang.

While r.c's posting so far isn't really giving me the warm fuzzies, it's not bothering me too much. Is it the sort of comment that scum is likely to make? -Voting for no-shows unless somebody exhibits blatantly scummy behaviour? IMV it seems more townie.

Ob, why did you unvote Feck?

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the combination of "I like r.c.'s threat..." and "However, ...". Do you mean that you think that though the threat is unnecessary, it has a townish feel? Or something else?
The "however" was the observation that low posters are not low posters because they are scum. It seems several people don't like posting day 1 because of the lack of data. What they fail to realize is that it their data that is lacking. As a general strategy I agree with voting no posters especially with the proviso of paying attention to what is actually posted.

Matt, you are making yourself very difficult to play with. The messages so far are: "don't vote me I'll cave" and "don't post anything that I don't consider useful".

Irre, what exactly do you remember about Linus in that other game.

Oblivion are you going to mayor vote? It's data you know.

I don't usually vote for a mayor. the exception is when the votes are close and I have a bad feeling about one of the contenders having that extra .5.

I know you don't. That's why I asked. You do consider it an influential role though. Why not have a say?

because I'm a creature of obstinate habit. It's interesting that you're pressing this line of questioning.
