One lie is enough to cause confusion. So it did.
I can guess his plan would have been to draw fire tonight with himself protected.
On the face of it, it was reasonable plan.
Where was he going with it though?

May I also acknowledge my mistake, and attempt to make amends?

Could I draw your attention to the words of MZ's that I have highlighted in green? Do they not seem at best callous, and at worst, scummy in the extreme?

How shall I dissociate myself from my earlier error of judgement in allowing myself to be led astray by MZ's weasel words?
