Oblivion (among others), can you please explain to me what I have said/done to show up so strongly on your scumdar?

I am also suspicious of charlou's claim. Having re-read the first day thread, I have realised that we really don't have anything other than her word to take for it. Yes, she had points added overnight, but I can see that as a scum tactic - she certainly didn't have enough added to arm her vest. I'm also wondering about her claim because she says that she can "protect" people from having points added, yet UT clearly had points subtracted. Is it too much to hope that we've got TWO "doctors" working for town?

I definitely had 1 point added last night. Whoever (Feck?) said that scum would lie about this, is FoSing out his arse. Why would scum only lie about 1 point? They could lie about any number of points - how would we know?

Also, the OP said there would be no indies. We have to stop thinking SK or vig.
vig is not an indie. vig is town.

Protecting from adding is different from subtracting/adjusting the current count. And if people are being truthful we have someone(s) who make slight adjustments (1 or 2 point) and people who have NK equivalents (4 point).

I haven't tried to figure this out yet, but I am wondering if the small adjustments zeroed out (I don't think what's posted in the thread bears that out, but it's possible that some people didn't reveal their counts today.

what do you mean "she certainly didn't have enough points added to arm her vest"?

As to why you are coming off scummy, I've already said - you're being followy - in fact you've followed Charlou onto people, and then stuck on them after she unvotes. The stickyness of your votes, especially so early in the game is kinda hmm.

And, like it or no, your commentary posts, where you summarize what other people have posted and worked out without adding any real analysis of your own looks like you're trying to look thoughtful and helpful but don't know how to pretend to scum hunt on your own.

This post that I'm replying to is more townish looking to me than anything you've posted so far.

I didn't know vig wasn't an indie. My bad.

The only reason I've been "sticky" is because I latched on to someone I thought looked really townish. Now I'm not so sure.

As for protecting being different to subtracting/adjusting, that's entirely my point. If charlou's claim is fairdinkum, then we have her protecting, as well as someone subtracting/adjusting. These both seem like "doctor" type roles. Which makes me think we've either got 2 "doctors" or she's lying.

Now, once again, this Mafia thing is still something I'm coming to grips with, but in the two-and-a-bit games I've played before, there's only been one doctor. Please correct me if I'm just talking out of ignorance.

Yes, I'll also admit I look scummy by not seeming to add anything, but in my defence, we've only played one and a half days, and I really am not experienced enough to scumhunt solo yet.

I'm thinking that both town and scum probably have an adjuster.

and charlou's visit suggests there's a scum blocker

and we have 2 "killers"

I'm hoping town has a seer, because otherwise we're blind re alignments, and can only go on reads.

In which case, we need to pile day-votes on EVERYONE we don't have strong town reads for, and hope the strong town reads are accurate, and that we have enough time to pull this off.

bolero, I'd still like for you to explain this part of your earlier post:

how can you say "certainly"?

for the points subracting thing let's keep in mind that i was the only one that looked fairly townish who had votes at the start of the night round. I'm really hoping 2 was what was subtracted last night because two is what i had. I'm hopeful that whoever has that ability can make greater changes, but we'll see. And yes, i get the feeling it was a vote redistribute rather than a cancel of the votes so that might be a very clever mechanism to make scum think about their votes more.

Yep I'm suspicious of everybody But a scum MZ wouldn't be picking a fight with a random town person at this point in the game ? so I might be thinking MZ is more town after those posts

Well, all I mean is that 5 points and below is "safe". If scum wanted her incapacitated (if armed=incapacitated, as was speculated earlier) all they would have had to do would be to add one more point. But it just so happens she's "safe". Only just, maybe, but why?

Look, I could be way off base here, but we've really only got her word for it that she's a town special AND that she had a "visit" last night.

Charlou, you have my apologies if this speculation is wild and unfounded, but I've been kicked in the pants and told to get more active, so this is really all I've got ATM.

Hi oblivion.

Shit this thread moves fast. Now the kids are at school and I have some time online. Apologies to everyone, but my first priority (after IRL stuff) will be the FF mafia game, seeing as I've invested 2 years of my life into it :twitch:

OK, I had the benefit of reading the whole of day 1 after day 1 ended, with fresh eyes of being new to the game. I think charlou is legit, because she outed after clearly thinking long and hard about it (after aza's suggestion of a mass outing) and she got a pile of points overnight. I think oblivion is townish because she's been doing proper scum hunting (putting people under pressure, moving on to others). UT is someone that I have a good read on, because of how often we've played mafia together. Outing as a vanilla town I think helps town, though unless we think a mass outing is a good thing I don't recommend other vanilla towns out because then scum can special hunt more easily. Gib indicated a very townish thing that I note mantis has also picked up on. That gib didn't get a load of points overnight suggests to me that mantis is town.

MZ going after charlou today is so weird, even for MZ standards, so I have him as very suspicious. Bolero is pinging, too, following charlou but now putting her doubts about her. Gonzo, I know you'll never let me live down that vote for you on FF, but your game is quite different. I'll try not to trolley track on you, but so far my vote stays.

Aza needs to participate. His mass out idea is one I'd have had at that time in the game, because I tend not to read PG and rules much. I have done this game, just to get my head around this codeword and points thing.

It looks like a vig and scum 'hit' overnight, to me, but the targets seem wrong...they would both be scum targets, and the vig might be having a shocker. MZ has dropped a couple of threats in the thread, I'd like to hear more from him.
