Zigmen, what are your thoughts on all the players, judging by their play so far? ... A list of most to least town/scummiest, if you would too, please.Zigmen wrote:Actually, if the game was balanced by design, there's no way Gib could possibly be Scum. Why wreck a design with a random assignment? Town is the only team with flexibility in numbers.Azathoth wrote:I suspect gonzo is using coinflip as a figure of speech for randomly and used town/scum probability in the RNG. If he made it 50/50 and posted it in the thread I need to have words with him post game about not being retarded
Of course, a missed night 1 hurts Scum more than Town, so it might depend on when Gonzo decided to skip the night compared to when he decided to add a "random" player.
My Gut says (as a designer) there's no way to add a Scum to game that has already started without A) admitting the initial balance was wrong, or B) somehow penalizing the the Scum team.
An indy is a strong possibility as well.
But I'd bet he's not Scum.

point of order... DP didn't actually volunteer. The timing was critical (thanks to youUselesstwit wrote:.. dp volunteering for the lynch..

Re the no-lynch I didn't realise until it was happening, that voting 'no lynch' was anything other than just saying 'ok I am registering that I could vote but am choosing not to' i.e. didn't realise that a majority of 'no lynch' votes would overcome an actual lynch of another player. It's a weird concept.
Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Tactical Espionage Action DAY
I go the other way. The MZ mayor wagon was a done thing and it's a nice way to rack a post up and look town, following a strong wagon, lots of town players on it (I say this because I doubt if all the scum were elected their scum buddy), without contributing.irretating wrote:Yes my thoughts are the same.gib wrote:i think it was odd when people said he was town for publicising that there was a traitor - even i read the OP
so i had that in mind on the reread (which i'll prolly get back to at some point) and yet his game seemed to match up pretty well with that one here recently, the one where ob was scum. Not a strong read either way tho
We didn't get a lynch yesterday, but the flopping onto the MZ mayor BW is interesting. Aza votes first, based on meta, then shizz agrees (which, if not paying huge attention to the OP and flavour seems ok-ish), then andrew most wholeheartedly absolutely agrees. Hmm. UT hopping on really seemed weird, and it'll take some town play from him to convince he of his town creds. Charlou hopped on, after all the brouhaha about me not hopping on (but we've moved on from that, I think) and then b.tern hopped on.
This is another reason I don't see b.tern as scum.
Ignore me, I'm just here for the Mafia.

aden? do you have a track record playing with b.tern? if so how good are your reads on her generally?

You have probably followed the game and already reached some conclusions by observing.
I can't really find flaw in what you've posted.
From which mafia dimension do you hail?

Yes! This is how we play mafia. Your lack of meta on the players may bring a fresh view, which may turn out to be a plus.andrewclunn wrote:Gonzo, can I ask that you put a link to day 1 in the OP to this day's thread? It would make it easier to look back, thanks.
My suspicion falls to azathoth. He threw out a lot of suspicion on easy targets and is responsible for getting the MZ mayor vote started. I'm just surprised at how many people jumped on that bandwagon so quickly (admittedly I was one of them) and I worry about a scum mayor. The fact that MZ now has also voted for DP doesn't help here. azathoth also pushed against DP and charlou (and charlou based on her not pressuring or voting for me), both of whom I'm inclined to trust after the events of day 1.charlou wrote:Andrew, what are your thoughts about the game play of each player on day one? Did you get have any thoughts at all about any of players as the game progressed, and/or with hindsight?
@ gonzo - I had FF in mind when I asked Andrew the question about voting. I've played a couple of games there, and their voting practices are quite different.
What are your thoughts Zigmen, judging by his posts yesterday and today?

I know we've played in the same game before, at least once, maybe a few more, but I don'tr remember her game at all. This is pretty much pure objective reading.Uselesstwit wrote:aden? do you have a track record playing with b.tern? if so how good are your reads on her generally?

so you thought you were abstaining, not blocking the vote? wouldn't that have led to the docs death?irretating wrote:point of order... DP didn't actually volunteer. I didn't end up voting yesterday, after taking my vote off charlou. I did think the DP lynch was the only viable alternative. Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Tactical Espionage Action DAY
Most would call that early attempts at triangulating allies when you are town. At least that is what I have gathered by listening to Ob's discussions regarding ratz culture. If you are trying to identify those people then hopefully you are also entertaining the possibility of these pairings being town looking for other townies for the sake of narrowing the field. This could be for your own benefit.andrewclunn wrote:On important thing I think is to trying to identify people who appear to be working together. There are two possible pairings that stick out to me at this point:
irretating and DP
azathoth and MZ
Of course it could be coincidence, but if one of them comes up scum at some point, I'd immediately become suspicious of the other.
It's also not uncommon for scum to WK or at lease befriend a townie either. Perhaps you should reread their posts to beter determine what you might be looking at. Having said that I will look at it for myself.
BTW...Hello, everyone!
I still have quite a bit of reading to do but this should be nowhere nearly as tedious as catching up with one day of an FF game.
