Forgive the WOT but I need people to look at these posts and tell me the impression you get. These are almost all of b.ternarius' posts from day 1.

Standard start:
Hi guys.
I am as nerdish as the next backyard naturalist and SF geek, but this flavour is about as distant from my normal interests as Pluto is from the Sun, so I will be asking dumb questions.
Non-committal defence of Zigmen:
be nize, guyz. :D

Zigmen may not have seen the game has started yet.
Nice follow, especially when you look later and she says that MZ hasn't posted enough for her to get a read on him. But by this time she had a good enough read that she voted him for mayor.

And backing irre up.
Joining the crowd...

@@vote MagicZiggy@@

But Irre voting for someone else for mayor doesn't strike me as off - calling attention to herself, maybe, not exactly a great scum strategy. :D.
Sticks up for Zigmen again and then votes for ac for playing in a way that isn't familiar:
Don't Panic wrote:
Afternoon kids, sorry for being late, was a little busy all weekend, have caught up quickly with the thread, liking town noises from a few people, irre, feck and aza, for anyone interested.

@@vote irre@@

Not sure of mz, wouldn't put it past him to jump on gonzos admission of a mistake and run with it if he was the traitor.

Still nothing from zigmen?

##vote zigmen##

Come and play.

I haven't seen zigmen online at TR yesterday or today so far - he may not know the game started. Weekend, eh.

##vote andrewclunn##

He's new here, maybe, but where do they play mafia where everybody roleclaims on Day 1?

Cough up a site link, Andrew, so we can see for ourselves.
Nice bit of explaining, the first of three or so filler posts that look really helpful and push her postcount up but don't actually contribute much.
{quotes from feck and andrewclunn left out}Thanks for the link.

##unvote andrewclunn##

There are roles where you would want to be viewed or acted upon. Think someone mentioned scum don, who often views as town, or for town a bomb that kills any player doing a night action on the bomb player, etc.

But Day 1 mass role claiming sounded bizarre to many of us, gives scum a great advantage in special hunting and so on.
Nothing post then she goes away until the day is over:
I'm biting my tongue here, Feck :P

Andrew, I skimmed that game's first few pages - yep, very different mafia culture.
S/he goes away and comes back after the irre-charlou-no lynch thing happened.
WTF happened here while I was out?

NM, I'll go read.
And this is her impression. I read most of yesterday in one hit and to me the irre-charlou thing was definitely oimportant enough to comment on. b.ter's response seems to be a nice hedge; doesn't want to comment in case irre needs bussing later and won't back charlou in case there is enough doubt later for a viable wagon.
mafia dramazzz. :smoke:

Lesson: don't let amok read the flavour source ever again because :helpme: .
More 'helpful' posts without any scum hunting.
Amok, I think you confused people - confused me too - because you kept referring to traitors when we all knew there was a traitor role, it's in the OP. And I at least assumed it was in the OP because Gonz had accidentally posted it in the PG, so decided to just state it was there plainly. It's a small game, it's unlikely there's another traitor role, so I couldn't figure out what you were trying to get at. It looked like redundant wifom or as if you were steadfastly refusing to read the OP.
Put on the spot...
charlou wrote:b.ter, your thoughts too, please.
Which thoughts? I already noted amok seemed confused to me and why. I accept she got sucked into the flavour and couldn't decide what to do about it as a town player. I think she's town.
Then there's two posts to andrewclunn explaining the difference in mafia and why early role claims are bad, iow filler with no substance, then this in response to charlou asking for further thoughts:
Heh. Not very coherent, tbh. I think you, amok and irre are town. Also Athene, probably feck, probably shizzle. I'm not as sold on andrew the town newb as others seem to be, easy to hide in all that newbishness, but not convinced either way. I'm in my usual day 1 dunno mode.
Charlou backs up with a question on MZ, DP and Aza. b.ter responds:
In neutral on all three. Need moar posts. MZ seems towny from the get-go, but I've been fooled before. :(
Need moar posts? From MZ? Hmmm.

But the real magic happened at the end when irre said that b.ter was on her wavelength and that irre had b.ter as town too.

And then b.ter says:
hmmm.

:hehe:
That is what pinged and pinged hard. b.ter has done no scum hunting this whole game. She ignored the huge discussion between charlou and irre, focussed briefly on amok's confusion and explained things to andrewclunn. But as for actual scum hunting...zero. Zero fosses, zero questions, zero votes, zero real analysis. But irre has b.ter in her town column.

Ancestrally I'm German, French, Welsh, Irish and Native American. But I was born and raised in the USA. Sorry.
all the traditional threats to the English Nation plus the usual american claim to indian ancestry, gotcha
Of course. We're all 1 / 32 Native American over here, it's just that I admit that it's because an ancestor raped a Native American woman. We also owned slaves (though I'm not descended from the children of any of the slave rape) and got our asses kicked by the British before that (there's a Clun castle in ruins in Whales.) Basically military losses and a lot of raping non-whites. My ancestral heritage Image

It does, but I'm bust reading the thread just to clarify that the timing presented is all accurate.

Oi! It just dawned on me that you think I'm scum, too, ade :colbert:

I think b.tern is town, my notes on her from yesterday are: "admitting to joining the vote MZ as mayor crowd… not do this as scum, nor is voting andrew"

The exchange that you think pings hardest is b.tern acknowledging that we were on the same scum team recently. Well that's what I thought of it, anyway.

You've gone to a fair bit of trouble to make the case, so I'll have another think about her.

BTW agree on andrew looking german

shizzle i thought was town until he just showed up the fucked off

who else is there, aza - dunno, you - dunno

You think MZ looks ok, I'm not so sure.

:pennydrop:

Yup, if b.tern flips scum I'm voting for you tomorrow.

It's a bloody thin premise to label someone town on on day one isn't it? That meta- speaking she wouldn't follow on a mayor vote nor would she pick the soft target?

i think it was odd when people said he was town for publicising that there was a traitor - even i read the OP

so i had that in mind on the reread (which i'll prolly get back to at some point) and yet his game seemed to match up pretty well with that one here recently, the one where ob was scum. Not a strong read either way tho

matt what do you make of that?

Not sure, seemed like a throwaway comment (she didn't actually go for the easy vote.) But voting "no lynch" by someone used to playing here is more worrying to me.

Hi Adenosine.

Since you've just done a read through, can I get your take on Athene/Contra.
She is most people's town pile.

Your case on b.t looks a little contrived with the commentary. I made my mind up about DP yesterday and could have put a case against him on that basis. I restrained myself and decided to just vote and let it fly.
However, the girl's club stuff between b.t and Irre did make me double take. Didn;t seem that scummy though.

I'll have a think about it.

What do you make of Andrew. I'm thinking traitor, but I'm really after the scum that I think he's trying to make us avoid lynching.
