Re: Ratz Drama Mafia Day 2
Sorry for the abscence, school has been busy. The good news is that I have all day to annoy some of you because the schools are closed today due to icy road conditions...in TEXAS, ffs!
I just finished re-reading Day 1 and am now caught up on Day 2.
Based on everything that I have read I must agree with oblivion regarding DennyB. I find his lack of detail in posts ring to me as scum trying to appear as if they were hunting.
I also find MZ's posts regarding his exchanges with M about her vote on Feck to be somewhat conflicting (pages 3 and 4).
Higgs is on my watchlist because DennyB tends to leave him out of his 'comprehensive' lists of fos posts.
I am going to vote the same a Day 1 for the time being...
vote DennyB
fwiw, I have learned to not rely too much on the lore regarding where scum hide themselves within a given bandwagon. I've seen them start bandwagons and I've seen them towards the end of one as well. I've also seen them not vote at all or be on a player not in danger of lynch - sometimes their own scum buddy, giving a clearly lame reason as to why thus not encouraging others to join them but looking as if they are hunting. It all depends on the situation. While a current focus on the Callan wagon is appropriate because it could conceivably be a good tactinc for scum voting Callan to spread the suspicion out some by NKing irre (#2 BW), I am also currently considering those on players who were not in danger of being lynched coupled with their voter's reasoning as well.

What's the vote count, Aza?
Re: Ratz Drama Mafia Day 2
Gonzo: I think the following people might be scum and deserve to be looked at.
Jerome: OMG, WHY WOULD YOU PUBLICLY VOICE YOUR SUSPICIONS! YOU'RE WARNING THE SCUM!

Looking at the itneraction between Gonzo and MZ; MZ, can you explain a bit more why you jumped off of Callan's wagon? The reason stated was simply that you know him well and, therefore, something something, his reasons for voting you were probably town.

Ya know what has just occured to me is we have not benn blessed with a back and forth sledge between OB and Zigmen. Thats uasually a given on day one.
And to all who voted for me. You know I always look a bit scummy. Voteing me in this game would be bad for town.

You thought she was scummy based on her interactions with another person, yet you didn't even note that part of that interaction was a vote?higgs2 wrote:I thought she was scummy, didn't look at who else voted really. When I did look at who was on the bw i wondered if gib were busing her as his reasons seemed mild and kind of flip. Or he made a flip comment, can't remember. It wasn't an OMG FOS Gib!! suspicion, it was a hmmm. But there are lots of hmmmms that turn out to be nothing.

interesting. I would have thought you'd pick up the lack of back and forth with Irre. Zigmen and I don't make a regular habit of it.DennyB wrote:Ya know what has just occured to me is we have not benn blessed with a back and forth sledge between OB and Zigmen. Thats uasually a given on day one.

Sounds like an attempt to divert focus with past meta regarding the two you brought into question...DennyB wrote:Ya know what has just occured to me is we have not benn blessed with a back and forth sledge between OB and Zigmen. Thats uasually a given on day one.
Really... you too, Denny?! You know, voting for me would be bad for town as well!DennyB wrote: And to all who voted for me. You know I always look a bit scummy. Voteing me in this game would be bad for town.
Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we ask everyone if a vote for them would be good for town - then we will know exactly who to vote for judging by their honest answers in response to the question. They would have to tell the truth, right?
How does that sound? We could have this game wrapped up - I can't believe nobody ever thought to do this.
Here let me...
Ehm...As a courtesy to all other players if there is anyone here who's demise would be good for town please let us know now so that we can win...and thanks!

I tried that a few games ago, it didn't work. Those dastardly scum don't seem to fall for being asked to out themselves.Contrapposto wrote:Sounds like an attempt to divert focus with past meta regarding the two you brought into question...DennyB wrote:Ya know what has just occured to me is we have not benn blessed with a back and forth sledge between OB and Zigmen. Things are starting to get interesting today.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

It depends on the player but a lot of scum won't lead BWs or tip the balance since those are the players that get spotlighted if the victim flips town, bearing that in mind the most interesting players from the BWs for me are:oblivion wrote:mafia lore is that the 3rd and 4th votes on a bandwagon are the most suspect, especially if the reasons aren't too sound. but, it's not a one-shot, it's a game-pattern of joining nascent bandwagons. and it doesn't work all that well in timed games with people spread over a bunch of time zones.
but given those caveats, we have Adem 3rd on Irre and Jerome 4th on Irre. And gib 3rd on Callan and higgs 4th on Callan.
gib's vote appeared driven by the game day events and his interaction with Callan. I don't think he was hopping a safe bandwagon.
Jerome arrived very late, and didn't contribute much beyond the vote and a weak defense against the reaction he got. This pings, but, it's Jerome. His play always pings.
So that leaves Adem and Higgs. I've only played one game with Adem, and he was a strong presence in the game thread. He was a mason and had a couple other abilities, and he arguably organized town in that game. His play here looks way more tentative, but ratz is new to him and so is the untimed game format. The change in play could be significant, or maybe not.
Higgs on the other hand doesn't appear to be scumhunting all that much so far. And Denny's posts from yesterday didn't look any better when I went back through the thread. I need to reread higgs posts in context, I think.
UT, for voting when it was 4-3, a nice safe parking place for a vote,
Jerome for voting Irre, makes it 5-4, doesn't change anything,
Oblivion, puts it back at 4-6, not as suss since a vote the other way would have tied it but she is more likely to make a ballsy move as scum,
MZ, decides he wants no part of the BW once it's looking likely, that's interesting,
DennyB, jumps on when it's looking nice and safe,
as does Gonzo, although this seems to be in response to people asking why he hadn't voted.
