Now, until we hear from Raven (Oblivion) -see I can hardly keep the same player straight some times- I have a few musings.

Aza pegged Diva for feeling bad about our lynch popping up as Town. Aza called this a Scum tell.

Aza would be correct if this happened for any player, but is doubly correct in terms of Diva.

Diva hates to lie, hates to be Scum, and is often very conflicted, leading to tells such as the one Aza spotted.

Also, Anyone know any of the flavor here? What's with getting scratched? My gut says it's lie a werewolf thing. You get scratched and then, a day or so later, you're a werewolf. Does the flavor support this?

To the bolded part, no. It is Catmen against the Comyn and the Guards. In the book, you cannot turn into a catman, however they do have a matrix.

As for the former part, Zigmen is right, I do hate playing scum and I think that I am quite terrible at it.

I felt bad for Ani because I started the lynch vote against Ani in part in jest but I had my own reasons for keeping it on there which I have already stated. I had nothing else to go on. As the bandwagon started forming I started feeling bad.

But to be fair Zigmen, and you have to give me this, I have said similar things when I am town. I hate to be wrong.

I always feel bad when I get a lynch vote wrong. I started the one with Ani in jest and I said that, even though there was a possibility that he was scum. I find it peculiar how everyone jumped on Bolero, then Ksen and pressure voted him to out himself as a special, and then Ani.

But if you want me to take the heat for throwing a first lynch vote down on Ani, that is fine, Aza. I certainly didn't expect people to jump all over him the way that they did.

There's not much in your other post addressed to me so I'll leave it. You did mention subtle whiteknighting of Zigmen. I suppose you could look at it like that. I prefer to look at it from the point of view of you special hunting.

Let's talk about yesterday. I reread the thread while totting up the Regent votes and made a few notes.

So the first thing I was looking at were people's reactions after Aza claimed. It was weird. Feck posted some inconsequentiality and then ignored it for eight hours until several other people were speaking about it. RL may have something to do about it, but at the time he ignored the biggest news story. It's like being in Washington on 8 December 1941 and skipping past the news on Pearl Harbour to check the fashion pages. Odd. Then...

Zigmen drops a vote on Bolero with no reason. Aza fills in a reason a post later.

ksen votes for Charlou.

Feck engages in the Aza claim debate some 8 hours after the event.

UT sticks up for ksen

ksen says he may have misunderstood Charlou's "special hunting" and onto the leading Bolero wagon.

Other people were voting for ksen

UT votes for ksen accusing him of being "defensive"

ksen claims double vote ability and later the name Dom Esteban, Lord Alton.

ksen later admits he conflated Bolero and Charlou but says he will keep his vote where it is because Aza has his vote on Bolero and he trusts Aza.

ksen offers to test himself against Bolero

Ani starts flailing and acting scummy

Ani bandwagon picks up heaps of passengers.

ksen switches to Ani.

Ani dies.

A few thoughts. ksen was acting scummy. He had already voted for Charlou before switching to Bolero and then admitting that he had conflated Charlou and Bolero. But how? Surely when you vote for someone you have clearly defined reasons for doing so. And when you unvote you file them away, you don't drag them to your new victim.

Then UT says "I really don't see the charlou vote either, but i'm not sure it makes ksen scum." I have WIFOM up the yin-yang from this.

My point? ksen was acting scummy so he got votes, then Ani started acting scummy so he got votes. The Bolero wagon was built on a thin premise, that I understood, but then everyone ran with it.

The other person that looked scummy yesterday was Zigmen with his no explanation vote on Bolero. He stayed there all day. And then he did have that weird first post today. Zigmen may very well not be pro-town but that doesn't mean that diva is either. After all, scum lost their Don last night. They'll be pissed.

Regarding the part of your post I've bolded, I went to look for this and found this post:

In at least one of those things, I think you have me confused with charlou.

Not wanting to vote, and not voting are two different things.

Also, the whole "Guys, I'm town" thing ... well, you're not going to come out and say "Guys, I'm scum", are you?

Went back and looked and you're right, i was mistaken about the looking for the other mason card. But Aza voted you and I trust his claim and I trust his judgment.

My interpretation of this: ksen's not saying he agrees that he'd conflated us, but that he was mistaken about Bolero looking for the other mason card.

I'm not sure why Bolero thought anyone was conflating she and I in any case. Bolero, can you recall this and explain, please?

Now that is not a very nice thing to say. Me being sorry for lynching town has more to do with my personality, not necessarily games or the participants themselves. There are players over there who are quite happy to lynch town.

And to be fair, if players from here went over there, some of them would get lynched right away because of their aggressiveness; I have seen it sometimes as a scum trait. But Cookie can tell you about it more than I can, since he has GMed quite a few games. I am a terrible player because I am a terrible player and not because of the site. But the dynamics are very different. Like you have to back up as to why you think someone is scum.

I post links on that site from here and I think that it is good for players to play games on different sites; goodness knows that I have learned a lot on here and I am grateful. But no one is going to want to come if they are being bashed because of the site they normally play on and I am just not going to post any more links. When I posted the links there were only 12 people signed up, and I was trying to help Ob meet her numbers as well as provide the opportunity through information that there were other sites out there.

Again, I don't think this needs to be a Ratskep vs. Ratz game, as that would be no fun.

I took that as extremely dry humour. Culture clash mafia adds an novel fun dimension, IMO.

I don't want to be a wallflower, but at the same time I don't want to spam your game style with mine, so I'll hang back a bit until one the sleuths pinpoints a scum with irrefutable logic, and then I'll jump on the bandwagon.

That's my strategy. It seems pro-town. Any problems?

Sorry Feck, I just feel a little protective of the people that I invited here. I think that you were joking, but still...the Mafia Games over here have a bit of a reputation for being mean to newcomers. Maybe I am just being overly sensitive to the RatSkep comments.

They are both big boys and are really good players and can probably take care of themselves.
