Re: Star Trek TNG Mark II - Day 2 (Q Who?)

Post by Zigmen » Wed Nov 17, 2010 6:15 pm

Do I have this right?

DP claimed to kill Ghat.
Denny claimed to protect Ghat, but there was an overloaded phaser accident.

I hate guessing at game mechanics, but i have considered a Town Protector role that, if applied to scum, would actually kill them. That seems possible.

Other possibilities include that one of them is Scum and making up lies.

Would DP lie about this?
Would Denny lie about this?

If we have a liar, we need to consider the benefit of the lie.

Jeez! Hitting submit again, and I'll read the 5 posts after it it sticks~

I do not see how DP would benefit from the lie.

denny just let me see if I have this.

you think that our vig tried to kill char but instead protected her?
you tried to protect ghat but killed him instead?
dp self outed as the vig for the ghat kill but is scum?

why would dp do that? If he were scum the only benefit would be getting the true vig to out himself and the cost would be him getting lynched the next day.

let me know if I messed this up, but it looks like a real mess from here.

sorry for repeating some of zigmen's questions but I was getting frustrated with it not going thru.

I will say that today does look like ani's town game. it's loud rude and doesn't make much sense. but it does get reactions.

As hard as it is to think that the Captian would have a vanilla role, I tend to accept Ani's claim for now.

UT, I don't know if Oblivion has ever invoked a posting limitation before. I don't think so.

I also tend to believe DP.

Denny, I am cautious of believing right now.

I'm keeping my vote on Feck, though. I just don't trust players who ask me about my track record in voting for them in the past.

droid captain?
unlikely, if there was a picard clone it would be the don wouldn't it?
I see. I guess it's possible that I'm a clone and oblivion hasn't told me, but that would mean there's a real Picard out there?
I doubt I am though, surely a clone's win condition would be with scum?
I was saying that for you to safely claim the picard role, you'd probably be the don, since the don is dead I think it's unlikely that picard is scum. unless it's counterclaimed of course.

I don't think scum would be that brazen.

Okay then.

Vote Denny

Because the Wifom of who is protecting an uncontested Town Special whose story happens to make complete sense is just too scummy for me to ignore.

For Denny to be right, DP would have to be scum who killed his own scum Don with a mayorship for the sake of what? Bussing them? And, if Denny is correct, that couldn't have happened anyway because Denny protected Ghat last night?

Am i missing anything?

I'm not really protecting dp, I just don't see a benefit for scum in making that claim. Please tell us what scum would gain by falsely claiming that kill. all I can see is trying to get the real vig to out and that would result in dp's lynch tomorrow instead. hardly worth the risk of a second teammate to get out vig. especially since he outed under no pressure. I obviously could be wrong, but I would kill a scum teammate that tried that play, and dp is a better player than that.

I was wondering about that. Maybe oblivion done it on purpose as a tactical manoeuver. Not sure how much benefit it could be, I could understand it in a PM game, but not this.

I'm not sure he's saying that dp killed his don, but is just lying to clear himself. but since lying would result in a counterclaim from the real killer it would be pretty damn stupid for scum to do it.

but zigmen the reverse is also true, you're voting for denny which means you think that dp is the vig and did kill ghat. if denny were scum he's lying about taking a kill someone else already outed for. I don't think scum would ever claim something that town has already claimed.
so either we have a scum playing so bad that they're going to clear themselves under the scum aren't this stupid rule, or they are both telling the truth and denny's kill just took precedence.

dp, what did your morning pm say from oblivion. did she mention that you were in fact the one who killed ghat or did you just target him and now he's dead?
