Re: Timebomb Day 3

fuzzy put a revenge vote down on bolero on day 2, and I think it was before her bandwagon started to take off. MZ has been on secondary bandwagons for the most part (given his early commitment to vote spreading, that's not surprising). He was on gonzo on day 2 from before the midpoint, even though he was encouraging others to vote mantis.

I think Charlou and Ob are town.

Period.

The rest of everyone is suspect. :bing:

Did I do anything that would indicate that I would start a bandwagon? :?

I find it strange that Irre would be accused of white-knighting you and then you go after her.

THAT seems weird. I am not accusing you of anything so unless you have a rare conscience, you might want to think out your response to this post unless you have a hair-trigger finger that cannot help itself.
scum whiteknighting town players is not at all unusual. In traditional games where you eventually start to get info about alignments, the whiteknighting behaviors sometimes is what helps town identify scum in the midgame.

this game doesn't have reveals, so although we may spot something that looks like white-knighting, we won't get confirmation until the end of the game. the behavior is still notable.

FWIW It's something I do as town. If I have a town read on a player I'm not afraid to get up in someone's grill if I think they are wrong about that person.

there's an individual player aspect to this stuff that also comes into play.

at a guess, day 5 or 6, depending on how effective our specials are.

I think tomorrow is going to be big. scum can't avoid showing their hands a bit tomorrow IMO.

On catching up, gib and Ob look solid, but I still see UT a bit on the outer.
That might be my difference of opinion about not leaving a player behind.
I'm reminded that I voted UT on the basis that his strategy appeared more to favour scum. I'll accept that that probably isn't the case.
The problem has always been that town has not settled on any consistent strategy, or have been disrupted from doing so by scum.
I'll fall into line.
I think Irre has been trying to build a case against me so they don't waste votes knocking me over tonight.
Scum may feel empowered to take me out tomorrow. I think they'l lay a point on me tonight and have Irre vote me tomorrow.
That's fine. I accept that I'll be armed soon. Better for them to waste a vote on me than a special.

Caught up on all the posts and one thing that stands out is MZ asking Bolero what her "W" stands for and her resistance in answering. I was thinking his question was reasonable, and at the same time, her preference to keep it to herself is reasonable ... then I realised, if Bolero was truthful on day two, we already know the value of Bolero's "W" ... MZ should know the value, and Bolero should be aware that we already know the value. That makes that whole exchange notable, but I don't know what to make of it.

Some points that have been made while I've been offline I won't comment on tonight for pragmatic reasons.

Timebomb Day 4

Post by Zigmen » Sat Apr 09, 2011 3:47 am

Night moves are complete, so we may start a bit early.

Today runs for 36 hours due to weekend shenanigans. Nightfall will be at noon EST on Sunday.

The Roster

Feck H
Bolero W
Mantis M
Irre F
UT C
Aza L
Obliv A
Diva D
Gonzo S
Charlou I
Praying B
MZ K
Fuzzy L
Gib L

You hear the cellphone ring. Again, you hear no voices on this end. There is a murmur, but you can't make much out. Just the words Marine and Pick-Axe. What could it mean?

gonzo was already armed and apparently at 7 yesterday. Seems more likely to me that scum would take points off than that a town special would put points on, unless it was some sort of point transfer.

Mantis has been left alone by scum for 2 days running. This makes me think we need to put her over the top today.

Fuzzy, Gib, were you hit with less than 4 points?

The words Marine and Pick-Axe don't mean anything to me. Hope they are meaningful to someone on the town team. :(

MZ it's interesting that you weren't hit last night.

I'm sure Irre will vote me. Praying probably will. Maybe gonzo.
I think scum will bank on those players doing the job for them.

Certainly makes me happier with my choice for protection last night.
