Actually, you could say it was a successful use of the gift in one sense - because I'm still alive, it shows UT wasn't targetted night 4, which means it's more likely MSG's telling the truth when he says he protected himself. If he was the killer and the doc, why wouldn't he just protect himself and then kill UT? If he'd done that, I would be dead. And I seriously doubt he'd be the killer and the doc - it would be a weird combination.
