Re: Discworld Day 1
If the GM has selected people for roles then they are not going to admit it are they !

anyone have a feeling on mantis yet, she's looking townish to me, but usually I can't read her this early.

she's the third one I'm currently concerned about, but she's not sticking out to me the way that irre and MZ have. I've been making an effort the last few games to not trolley-track on her.Uselesstwit wrote:anyone have a feeling on mantis yet, she's looking townish to me, but usually I can't read her this early.
she's one I'd suggest viewing if the seer wants suggestions.

Re: Discworld Day 1
Since no one else has definitely answered r.c. I will.
Usually in a good mafia setting the roles will be totally randomized. There are exceptions to that rule though. GM's will sometimes reroll if the results are way out of line, like having an all new player scum team, having two people on a nontown team that are absolutely incapable of playing together, and over on another site I know of one player that was blacklisted from being anything but town for several games. Generally it's something not to think about in a game as it'll just generate confusion if you try reading the gm's mind in that respect. So basically assume randomization.

I know one gm who claims to at least occasionally handpick players for key roles.Feck wrote:If the GM has selected people for roles then they are not going to admit it are they !

Re: Discworld Day 1
Yeah, he's not looking so good this game. The agreeing to vote a new player, then an afterthought to ask how many games that new player has played, seems very lacklustre. When he votes a player for something anti-town (that no one else agrees with) it's his town tell. But I've publicised that recently so he might be capitalising on it. I didn't see anything wrong with what r.c posted. If gonzo doesn't return and do some actual scum hunting, if he just leaves his vote on r.c then I'll be wanting him lynched.Linus wrote:Do you have a read on Gonzo?irretating wrote:##vote oblivion##

Well I think we all know your bastard mod role (the lethal princess or whatever it was) was a hand pick from aza.oblivion wrote:I know one gm who claims to at least occasionally handpick players for key roles.Feck wrote:If the GM has selected people for roles then they are not going to admit it are they !

Discworld Day 1
Hi kids, sorry I'm late, but I'm here now to prod some serious buttock, or something like that.
First off, the GM told me that all the scum have won an all-expense paid weekend in the hovel of their choice, just post here to claim your prize.
Amok, why did you waffle when asked if you were scum?
Who else hasn't posted yet?
Anyone got a mayor/lynch count?
Why didn't feck vote for me?

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
