I understand deadlines for voting and advising the game Moderator on role playing actions but I can't think of a reason why players should be restricted from posting in the game thread 24 hours a day.oblivion wrote:I'll see what I can do to prevent this in the future. Sifaka *** has posted gameplay posts right after nightfall both game days so far. It might work to just lock the game threads until it's time for the new day to start.
What effect would it have if the exact same post went up before or after the deadline?

It's the difference in nature between the day and night in a no PM game. Stuff posted after the deadline could cause a player with a special abiity to change his/her mind about who they will protect/view/kill etc.Lion IRC wrote:I understand deadlines for voting and advising the game Moderator on role playing actions but I can't think of a reason why players should be restricted from posting in the game thread 24 hours a day.oblivion wrote:I'll see what I can do to prevent this in the future. In a no-PM game, players can post advice to the specials if they want. For instance, it's not uncommon for a player to for protection or for a view of him (or someone else) near the end of the game day. Before the day ends is fine. After the day ends, the people with night actions have to sweat their decisions out on their own and do their best for their team.
That's part of what no-PM mafia is all about.

Let us pray my friends for a dear, lost puppy…
O mighty FSM we beseech thee to take time out from your production of your ever popular Venus Envy Hairspray to hear our prayers. We know Venus Envy is predominant in Western society and we wish you luck in spreading its holy goodness and firm enhancing abilities throughout the world.
As you sit mightily upon your sanitary pedestal dropping bits and pieces of wisdom, remember Pups, a pup in whom you were well pleased. As a true pirate at heart, we trust that you’ll give Pups and Virphen a place in your heavenly pirate abode and this is how we’d like to remember Cap’n Pups and his first mate Virphen.

Our beloved little Pups may be gone physically, but he’s here (and always will be) in spirit. His tenacity of spirit and his kick-mah fuckin’-ass-you-mothah fuckahs attitude means he’ll have a place in the hearts of Kittehtown forever.
In His most holy name…
RAmen
Pups’ Will and last testicle Testament
Knowing that his little life would be short, Pups managed to write a short will upon the paper that was most dear to his… ah, heart.

Eat heartily mah ebil maties…

Jimmy Lee Farnsworth: Erwin, admit that you are a sinner.
Fletch: Uh. Well, I've sinned. I didn't take any Polaroids or anything. But, yeah, I've sinned.
Jimmy Lee Farnsworth: The Lord forgives ya!
Fletch: Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Amen. What? Other sins? Uh, I parked in a handicap spot on my way up here. Actually, on a handicap person. I told him I'd be back in five minutes, so that's not such a big deal.

I've been given a "lock topic" button that I am going to test on this thread. It will be unlocked again shortly unless I can't figure out how...

Please listen up
I am hoping to have the ability to close and reopen the game thread myself before the nightfall of game day 3 (which is in about 5 hours).
Some players have posted "gameplay" posts after nightfall during the game so far. Whether I am able to close the thread or not, any further "gameplay" posts (described below) will result in a penalty for the player -- which will also penalize their team. The penalty could be anything up to and including a godkill - being removed from the game. So, please watch what you post in the peanut gallery between my nightfall and next day posts, and don't post at all in the game thread during that time.
A gameplay post is a post that contains information that could affect the night actions of town and scum. A post with an accusation, a defense against an accusation, or a request for a player with night time abilities to do something will be treated as a gameplay post. I may consider posts that aren't that direct to be "gameplay" as well.
Thanks for your cooperation!

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Saying that if I die it was probably you is not an accusation, it's a statement of fact. Everyone knows that Dubs are violent killers.Animavore wrote:Issuing after hours accusationsDP wrote:?Animavore wrote:Yes DP. Yi hairy bollox.

I'm always hiding my online status. Mostly since I'm always logged on at some computer somewhere, even though I'm not sitting next to the machine
