I said it on the zombie board... UT going after me for being so happy to lynch mono day 1 was kind of a fluke. Because of any player I've ever played with, mono is the one that I would gladly policy lynch until he changes his game.
Aza's error was huge. I played it down and let people draw their own conclusions for the main part.
In my mind, people would be crazy to vote for me given that error.
I thought it was odd that it didn't cause much of a ripple, but wasn't going to toot your town horn for you. :D

I think the last day would have been hell. I'm glad we didn't play it. Town or scum, I hate being around at endgame. and I really hate being the last scum in the game. I'm not good enough to pull that off.
You were doing so well! I was so relieved I got to the bench first, because I could not find a way to keep on trying to post as townish.
that's because you're  to your very core.

Sorry the endgame got broke, but thanks, guys, I enjoyed playin'.

Unlike Ob, I love playing scum.

Not much to the zombie board, as it didn't get made until late, but here:

I gotta say, if I'd been town I'd still have been out to lynch mono. No communication and a dead friendly miller N1? Crazy to keep him in the game for days.

i always wonder how much harder I make things on myself for the future when I lay out my thought process in a writeboard. but, I think it helps me develop my game - I have to change or I'm toast. and I hope it also helps other players think about different ways to approach the game. I'm a very methodical scum player. I focus on special hunting and I usually start the game with strong set of druthers regarding how I want endgame to look. and I learn a lot from my scumbuddies.

I think b.tern may be one of the most underrated players these days. Her in-thread game needs development, but she is good at reading other players as scum. that should translate to good scumhunting when she's town if it hasn't already.

i agree about b.tern. i was surprised to see her persona on the scum wb. once she gets that confidence and insight into the game thread, she'll be brilliant.

Thanks, Ob!

That's pleasant to hear. :D

Working on my ingame play is a constant thing: I don't flail much anymore, but I tend to voice weird unlikely viewpoints that cause others to point and stare, even when I'm town.

My advice; Let your consciousness just flow out. :)

Seriously, the game is all the more interesting for the differences in styles and personalities.
The only stuff I don;t like is prolonged, unexplained absence.

And I'd like to point out to Magicziggy that I've known Oblivion for several years online and she does not lie. She's not even completely comfortable as scum because she has to essentially 'lie' to win.

I realise it may have looked that way, but that is another reason I think the game should not include extranea like whether one is logged in or not, or what else one does online. Way too easy to make mistakes.

Maybe good advice.

I completely agree re absentee players. Godkill 'em, I say. That way town doesn't waste a lynch.

I tend to do that too, I think. sussing the game design is a big part of what I enjoy in mafia. I used to get fosed for thinking out loud about game design. after a while people started pumping me for my game design thoughts. These days hardly a game goes by when I am not asked what I suspect about the design and balance.

Well, the ob "online thing" was just one of many little curve balls this game. I do like the FF policy where the game mod instructs everyone to hide their online status, at the beginning of a game. Agree that this mafia forum shouldn't be hidden away such that we have to be online to read it.

I don't think I had to tell a single lie this game. that definitely helped my in-thread demeanor.

Ob, you talking about game design and balance has been extremely useful for me. I read more on the subject after you got me thinking about it, and it has helped my play.
