The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

So all avenues of pleasure have been closed off in this game, huh? No writeboard, no posting at night, no conspiring via PM...
And we don't even know what the roles are and what they can do?!
Irre, what tips did you get from oblivion for public-only shenanigans?

Hello Fellow townies,
Here's a quick outline of my new and ambitious vision for our town:
First, in a spirit of celebration, I will raise taxes to finance my new luxurious double-wide tent.
Second, all town's people must now address me as "Your Much Revered Eminence"
Third, as the first lady in this town, I need a new and improved stillsuit. I think Virphen would me more than willing to give his skin for this purpose, and I thank him muchly for his sacrifice to the common good.
Her Much Revered Eminence, sifaka.

I think we need a third party candidate. One who takes a rather different stand on the whole lizard-skinning issue.

I got told to figure out what the roles are, based on what shenanigans happened overnight. So, it's all much clearerCookieJon wrote:So all avenues of pleasure have been closed off in this game, huh? No writeboard, no posting at night, no conspiring via PM...

Nightfall!
Thus spoke St. Alia-of-the-Knife: "The Reverend Mother must combine the seductive wiles of a courtesan with the untouchable majesty of a virgin goddess, holding these attributes in tension so long as the powers of her youth endure. For when youth and beauty have gone, she will find that the place-between, once occupied by tension, has become a wellspring of cunning and resourcefulness.
-from "Muad'Dib, Family Commentaries" by the Princess Irulan
To know a thing well, know it limits. Only when pushed beyond its tolerances will true nature be seen. Do not depend only on theory if your life is at stake.
-Bene Gesserit Commentary
Blip's stillsuit is disabled and drained, and she is forced out into the open desert at knifepoint by an angry mob of thirsty, sand-crusted fellow-travelers. "You will face my Gom Jabbar, you foul pack of animals!" she cries before turning away with resignation and trudging out across the sands. Blip was the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam and had an independent win condition. She had come to Arrakis to salvage what she could of the generations-long Bene Gesserit breeding program. If she had found one of the products of the genetic lines destined to produce the Kwizats Haderach, she would have joined that faction and done her utmost to protect the Great House' heir.
