I don't like Mantis vote on r.c. Although for Mantis it is far more assertive than I can remember.
This statement kind of reminds me of Mantis' post on Day 2 of the Old West Mafia game when she was scum. One of the scum tactics that I have observed is whiteknighting a town player.
Mantis wrote: out of the ksen bandwagon, r.c looks the most townish because he didn't have to get his vote in right at the last minute.
I don't think I've said anything scummy or townish yet for MZ to have such a reaction. Nothing concrete but just pings me a little.

you're throwing up a shitton of wifom about something you have already agreed is my town game. I'm thinking you're scum.

hm. your mayor vote is on UT. I think we should keep an eye on that as the game develops.

Amok, are you scum? You made a big deal out of never lying so lets have no waffling please. A simple yes or no will suffice.
In retrospect, that was a very stupid thing for me to say. If someone else had said it, I'd be rolling my eyes. Even the waffling remark makes no sense since I opened the door for the direct question in this game (live and learn). I am not Scum.
It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.

Discworld Day 1

I haven't agreed on anything about you being town. I'm saying not mayor voting is not pro-town. Your vote is preemptive and quite scummy. It won't stop me voting you later. I have to go to work now.

UT asking me that question makes me a bit suspicious, but I can't decide if I'm just being paranoid. Scum would know I'm not Scum, but asking seems like a Townish thing to do. If it's a bluff to appear Townish, it's kind of obvious. UT's a better player than that, isn't he? (That's a general question for anyone.)

I'd like to see how much irre's answer differs from mine, but it's fine if answer before that.

so after a year of never mayor voting before late in the game day, and exactly one scum game in that entire run, it's suddenly scummy for me to not mayor vote.

No, MZ, you're reaching for some stupid-ass reason. I do not like the looks of you so far.

Nah, I'll let her go first. I'm actually curious of her answer, too.

mz, you are being very defensive atm. I think i might follow ob on this one, but it'll wait until you get back from work. Ob, I thought his mayor vote on me was a bit odd as well, but mz and I have a long history of misreading each other so I decided not to put much stock in it this game. Amok, sorry to do that to you, but I keep hearing that "I don't actually lie" line in mafia over at ratskep, and truthfully anyone who says it is full of shite. So thanks for answering it so clearly.

still catching up with the thread
I thought I got a small sense of triangulation from your vote, because something about his post also bothered me. But, I can't seem to recreate my train of thought now. It wasn't the reason you say you had for the vote.
One of the less charitable interpretations that came to me was that rc intended to almost be a no-show, save for that post and voting for a no-show, which would be convenient. And that the question about randomization was prompted by ending up in some scum team that didn't feel random. (I think I prefer to return to this when it's clear what rc's participation level is, though I can sort of see how it could be enough for an early lynch vote with little else to go on.) Was your thought different from that too?
A lot of assumptions there. I never intended to be a no show. The question about random selection was purely curiosity. I guess the PG would have been a better place for me to ask that.

I actually did it to mz last game as well, it's not about trying to look town at all. Some people just don't lie that well, and it's good to see how they do react.
