it really sounds like you might have some sort of malware that is co-opting your browser for stuff. Run multiple anti-malware thingos over your system. You can get good free ones online now. I'm sick of doing google (and my own desk drawer) searches for you ( ;) ), so look up a magazine called APC - Australian Personal Computer, and look for an article on the best free anti-malware programs. In fact, that magazine should be one of your first points of call for fixing computer problems. Just about every bit of software i've recommended you in this thread I learnt about from APC. :thumbup:

I ran Malwarebytes, nothing. After I got rid of that extension no more stinky linkys. And no more freeze up.

Ahh good! But if you still experience troubles, run multiple different anti-malware over it. As I said earlier somewhere, none of them are 100% effective and they pick up (and miss) different things to each other.

I have Malwarebytes, Avast, and a DOD approved A/V.
