Then take several pix of the appropriate size and add them to the background, one at a time. You can set the time each will linger on the screen before the next one replaces it. "A tour of Korean from my bedroom."
PS, I don't use GIMP, but that's the theory behind it. Spend ten minutes learning GIMP and you'll get the idea.
