CMJ: "Didn't you develop from a single cell into a multicellular organism? "
Charles Dawkins says:
Nope. But if you use your imagination (thats all you have) you could
draw some nice pictures or create an animated cartoon to demonstrate
how it could have, might have, wish it would have happened. Remember
empirical evidence? Do you have any "empirical evidence?" Jelly fish
are supposedly at the base of the evolutionary tree of multicellular
organisms. Do you have any "empirical evidence that demonstrates how a
jelly fish evolves from a single cell. It must be kind funny trying to
teach this stuff without any experiments that demonstrate it. I like
real sciences, like physics or electrical engineering where we can
actually demonstrate the things we are being taught, they are called
experiments that we perform in laboratories which produce empirical
evidence. Remember empirical evidence?
I seem to recall drawings (from someone's imagination) of a gradual
progression of apelike creatures beginning to walk upright until they
resemble modern man. Now children, this is how evolution works, good
now lets move on kiddies. We seem to be missing the lab books for the
experiments that might produce empirical evidence to support the
"theory of evolution." Don't worry, we'll find them, for now, lets
move along children. Don't think, don't question, just believe. Now
stare at simple cell and repeat the mantra: it evolved.
CMJ: He forgot he was once a fertilized egg.
Hi, all. Been away due to circumstances of which some of you are aware, sorry but I can't go back through all posts and answer any direct questions I missed. If they were important, please re-post.
John - "Creationists accept that hedgehogs, porcupines and echidnas are the same kind - yes they are mammals"
As I have mentioned in the past, Linnaean systematics features nested branching, and evolution predicts nested branching. The creationist use of invariant "kinds" is self-defeating, as Linnaeus recognised long before Darwin that "kinds" are hierarchical in precisely the way that evolution would later accommodate. Vertebrates always beget vertebrates, mammals always beget mammals, rodents always beget rodents.
"Kinds" present no criticism of evolution.
"Everyone knows scientists insist on using complex terminology to make it harder for True Christians to refute their claims. Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!"
