Now, if Robert Fitzroy had a knife in his left hand (with which to slit his gizard), it would be perfect. :what:

Oh, and it should come with a "bandwidth unfriendly" warning, coming in at over 10 MB. I did a bit of tweaking with the colour depth and re-saved it as a GIF file of 1/4 the size. :geek:

It's all guys. How can you have "biology", as you say, without women?

Nice. The pre-Socratics are out of frame. They had as much to say about nature as Plato and Aristotle, and certainly Epicurus. Bastards! :lay:

It's actually the history. Here is a one picture summary of man from the Inner Fish book:

In the top picture, the most powerful scientist in England was Owen. He was in fact the best anatomist. There is probably no way could not have seen we evolved from apes, the similarity to chimpanzees and gorillas was plain to most who had looked at the skeletons. With him it was a personal issue.

Another reason for his criticism of the Origin, some historians claim, was that Owen felt upstaged by Darwin and supporters such as Huxley, and his judgment was clouded by jealousy. Owen in Darwin's opinion was "Spiteful, extremely malignant, clever; the Londoners say he is mad with envy because my book is so talked about"."It is painful to be hated in the intense degree with which Owen hates me"
