No it's not. It's a reflection of the damage hate speech does to individuals and society as a whole.

It can't be, since hate speech is such an overwhelmingly vague and ambiguous term, with no coherent or cohesive definition, that to ass "the damage hate speech does" is essentially an exercise in futility.

The implication that you even know what is and is not "hate speech" is absurd.

... getting laid wold seem to be the very point of "free love, anti-repression." What were men and women supposed to use "the whole free love, anti-represssion thing" for? Having ice cream sundaes at Dairy Queen?
I'm sure in many cases (for example me... ) it was totally brilliant for both with nary a hint of reluctantly assenting... :tea:

In at least some cases, it was a way of persuasion that was at least a little grubby...

I forgot how adults have a difficult time of not being taken in grubby persuasion.... I know when someone tries to grubbily persuade me to do something I'm not otherwise inclined to do, I can rarely resist.

These policies are written purposefully vague and expansive, because the idea now is that if a person in a "marginalized" category complains about something, then it will be acted upon because their feelings are determinative. The policies are not considered to be oppressive or silly, because they're only really used by the oppressed persons themselves. The oppressor could claim that someone violated this same policy against him, but nobody would take that seriously because he's at the top of the progressive stack.
