Something else just occurred to me. They want to be inclusive. But by insisting on real names or consistent pseudonyms, they're going to make it a very unsafe place for atheists who choose to remain closeted for good reasons of self-protection. One of the best and most important things the RDF did was to provide a safe place for such people from all over the world. They could talk with fellow atheists while remaining safely anonymous. It changed more than a few people's lives for the better.

I don't think they realize it, but in this area our new friends are shooting themselves in the collective foot.

My understanding is that one of the reasons for Atheism+ is to create a safe space and to not associate with haters. However, I am reading the current forum rules and do not see any provision on whether documented bad behavior on other sites is a factor regarding participation on this forum. Greta Christina has the following provision in her comment policy and I believe you would do well to adopt something similar:

9: Do not behave atrociously in other blogs. If you are barely walking the line of acceptable behavior in this blog — but you have a pattern of foul, demeaning, sexist/ racist/ etc., insulting, violently threatening, or otherwise reprehensible behavior in other blogs — you will be banned from this one, with no second chance, and no warning.

Given that we already have a slyme pit regular participating in this thread I think this is a good time to ask the question. IMO if someone is a regular participant on a hate site then you should consider very carefully if they are welcome to participate here.

Yeah, I was referencing this earlier when I wrote that i doubted they'd welcome me, despite our sharing many ideals.

Yeah - I'm in it and a bunch from here and there interact regularly. I just wanted to take a bit to pimp it out since there is quite a bit on someone seriously harassing Justin Vacula - posting addresses, parents addresses, contacting them, contacting schools, etc - apparently it's enough that he's going to go to the cops. So, that is considered acceptable? It's after the 10,000th post on the periodic thread, but I can't put the URL in until I can figure out how to use this tapatalk app. Sorry, I'm sure someone else can if it hasn't been mentioned elsewhere in this thread or forum.
