Re: In Praise of Josh Timonen
Thanks to Feck for bumping this thread, I was going to go looking for it, I now have something for which I can praise Josh.
He likes cougars.
Good on you Josh.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Josh and Cougar.
Why do I suddenly feel a strong urge to watch Jerry Springer?

I can praise him instead for being able to do all that videoing and web stuff even though he's blind.

With respect to what EWB seems to be in the know about, which is implied in this post here:Elessarina wrote:In respect of what LP?lordpasternack wrote: But this also potentially lets me bask in the comfort of feeling vindicated for words I said, and not feeling so smug about having coolly said to Richard Dawkins himself that "I'll be vindicated"...
I made comments to Richard, back in the heat of the moment, to the effect that Josh had a bit of a slimy, dishonest, trust-abusing side to him. I didn't mince my words, and I told Richard that I knew he probably wouldn't like the way I was putting it to him, but that I was confident that I'd come out vindicated in the end.electricwhiteboy wrote:One day he might even learn to siphon off charity funds into an untraceable offshore account rather than JUST LEAVE A MASSIVE PAPER TRAIL.

Somehow, I don't think RD is in a place right now where he'd appreciate being reminded that "I told you so ...".Feck wrote:could you E-mail him again LP ?lordpasternack wrote: I made comments to Richard, back in the heat of the moment, to the effect that Josh had a bit of a slimy, dishonest, trust-abusing side to him. Because that would be like quote mining our forum and ranting in the Press about how horrible Ratz are and how fucking wonderful his loving caring friend Josh was .I don't remember many of us 'being in the right place to appreciate ...that."klr wrote:Somehow, I don't think RD is in a place right now where he'd appreciate being reminded that "I told you so ...".Feck wrote:could you E-mail him again LP ?lordpasternack wrote: I made comments to Richard, back in the heat of the moment, to the effect that Josh had a bit of a slimy, dishonest, trust-abusing side to him.
