I like the A symbol. It signifies the atheist faith, and warns us all who we're dealing with. But sometimes you can't see it from a distance. Maybe there should be some kind of brightly coloured background to put it on, some kind of distinguishable shape.

Hm. Interesting point. Until you try to parse what the atheist faith is supposed to be.

As for a background shape, why not boobs? They're pretty universally liked, and I don't think anyone's using them yet...

Edited to add: Tigger-- You beat me to the post. But why a big, hairy twat? Why not a nicely-tended Brazilian big twat? A nice, smooth surface might provide more contrast. Or maybe the hair could be shaved and dyed into an A? Just throwing out some ideas...

Maybe we could talk to Julianne Moore...

The atheist faith is the belief in Richard Dawkins as saviour.

Yawn - there you go again...

Atheism is not a "faith." Atheism is the absence of faith. Nonbelief in gods is as much a "faith" as not believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy.

Sure. If you say so.

Wait. Wouldn't that make RD a god?

Is the civil-rights movement a religion?

Never mind. This is decidedly off the topic of big red "A"s.

If you flip a coin, you don't get nothing, you get the other side of the coin. Atheism is faith in a godless universe.

The opposite of 1 is negative one, not zero. I'd say atheism is the zero stance.

But maybe Imagetheism isn't.

Atheism isn't a zero stance. If it was, you'd all shut the fuck up and say nothing. But as it is, you preach your faith with as much zeal as those who you claim to be so different from.

I'm zealously preaching a viewpoint? Or do you mean Dawkins? We're not clones, you know.

Or is it that shutting-the-fuck-up silence is the only other option to preaching zealously? Do you think there's only two types of people in this world?

Yawn. Fail.

Dreadlocks are not a style of hat.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
