Yes, I understand that he's responded to articles on his website, but keep in mind that this situation is of several orders of magnitude higher than responding to an article and he may need more time. I'm not saying that I think he'll definitely respond. I don't know. I hope he does. But for now, give it a rest. You've done everything you can, and then some. If this is still not sorted out in a month, then try again.

That's my suggestion, anyway...

At the risk of whoring my own previous post, this sums it up. Sing it to the tune of Don McLean’s American Pie.

Until Richard owns-up and acts honestly, he gets ZERO leeway. He’s a disgrace to himself and to the atheist movement.

Right now excuses for him are flowing like shit at a diarrhea convention. His credibly is crumbling; he can find the time to salvage it. Instead he’s maintaining his self-delusions of grandeur and acting like an injured party.

He’s going to continue to sink even further unless he stops his blatant hypocritical stance and acts, not for his own self-interests, but for what atheism stands for… the truth regardless of how a bitter a pill is may be to swallow.

He’s spent a lifetime ‘preaching’ science and reason over lies and superstitions, yet he’s now gone into the same camp as those he’s condemned for doing what he’s now engaged in, telling lies and hoping the mindless masses believe the bullshit that’s thrown out to them.

When he learns what ‘truth’ is and acknowledges it, the furor will die down, until then… I very much doubt it!

As I already said in another thread - staff expressly said that they'd respond to illegal stuff, porn, and stuff potentially damaging to RD's reputation. :coffee:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

I'm a hideously lazy twat and can't be arsed to do even the smallest amount of digging to find out what has been going on over at RDF. Can somebody sum it up for me please?

I'm trying to get a thread together, but it will probably still be too long for your goldfish-esque attention span. :Erasb:

This might help. I know Topsy (Flora) had already posted it here, but I have this to hand:

I've been out of action for so long, I can't jump straight into the deep end! I need it summarized in a series of short statements, preferably inflammatory ones which already lead me to a particular conclusion, thereby necessitating even less work on my part.

You're Richard Dawkins?

This is where the dumbing-down culture has led us ... the youth of today have no attention span. :cranky:

As I see it...
  1. rd.net announced forum would be replaced in 30 days with a discussion area where new topics must be submitted for acceptability and off-topic posts would not be allowed. The then current moderating staff would not be used in the new scheme. They were dismissed with scant thanks.
  2. Critical discussion ensued.
  3. Forum was shut down and brought back up in read-only mode. Critical thread was deleted.
  4. People went elsewhere and expressed anger.
  5. Richard Dawkins used some of those colorful expressions of anger as justification for earlier rd.net actions.
  6. Brains exploded.
