The AmazingAtheist is really shouty. Why all the shouting, AmazingAtheist? And if it boggles his mind that people actually care so much about this trivial incident (which, honestly, is a bit surprising, maybe even telling), if he thinks there are so many more important things for atheists, particularly atheists with public platforms, to be getting worked up about, why is he spitting and shouting for almost fourteen minutes about this?

Pay attention to something worthwhile, AmazingAtheist. Or take a chill pill.

Mr. Deity is at least entertaining, but I think these days I'd prefer to get my Woody Allen impersonations through Owen Wilson.

Can someone please explain to me why it is that many people think women are a bit more equal than the other half of humanity?

Why is it that men commit thought crimes, but women are devoid from this failing?

Why is it that men have to be conscious of the sexual politics at all times, whereas, it seems, women don't have this obligation?

Why is it that in any interaction between men and women, there seems to be a greater obligation on men to restrict their behaviour?

Why is it that, and I'm sorry to say this, Americans in particular, seem to have as a given that men are inherently evil and wrongheaded in everything? What koolaid did you drink that has given you this outlook?

Could it possibly be that those of you who misunderstand equality have gone all the way around the circle, and are now being paternalistic again to women?

Noone has a right to not be offended.

Women are not delicate and sublime creatures.

Women are not superior to men. (And men are not superior to women).

Women are as prone to faulty thinking, failures in behaviour, and stupidity as are men.

I see no reason whatsoever to suggest that it is right to argue that men should be circumscribed by society for normal, ordinary behaviour.

Flirtation, welcome or not, clumsy or sublime, is a hazard of being human. It is tough shit if you don't like it. Like most people, when a person (male or female), is on the receiving end of unwelcome flirtation, you try to extricate yourself as quickly as possible (gently or with brute rapidity), and chalk it down to life experience.

I am not anyone special, and even I have been on the receiving end of unwelcome female flirtation, and I think "This is unpleasant - I wish she'd get the message, and go away". Sometimes women in these circumstances can be unbelievably persistent. It is worrying, annoying, irritating, and can be most intrusive. But - tough shit. That is life. People are entitled to try to meet sexual partners, and if you don't like it, tough luck.

(Criminal acts are of course excepted - as they are for everyone).

The Amazing Atheist is always like that. He's kind of a tool. But, tool or not, he hit the nail on the head here.
