It's the oppression olympics. Anyone ever spent time on Tumblr? It's full of this shit. I only lasted a few weeks and had to get off.

I have an automatic filter in my brain now that simply never reads comments under anything - youtube vids, blog posts, newspaper articles… The inane and insane they contain isn't worth wasting time on, and nothing contained in them will make a jot of difference to anything, because they're so transient.

Ratz is kinda different. Sometimes.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

It's not as simple as you portray it to be. History and context come into it too. Of course, that makes it ultimately very subjective.
