I renounce you, which, of course, means that you are no longer denounced. All your nounce has been reinstated.

Who's going to be first to flounce? :thinks:
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

What????

Only Surly Amy is allowed to sell ceramic jewelry. If you try to sell your "fake" ceramic jewelry, you will have your nounce removed, with extreme prejudice.
I'm going to make a necklace that encapsulates all that.
I think you're wearing it in this pic.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I would look twice at any idea with an FtB badge on it anyway, because as far as I am concerned they are totally discredited. Generalisation? Yep. :smug:

Also, if whoever has come up with this imagines that a doctrinaire approach to Atheism is anything other than abject silliness, then we are not exactly dealing with intellectual heavyweights.

However if they want their own train set to play with they’re welcome; it makes zero difference to me. :coffee:
What bothers me the most is that I have to go back to Seth and admit that he was right. There really is a subset of atheists called "Atheists" (albeit, now, they are dubbing themselves "Atheist Plus").... and they really are as dickish as Seth made them out to be. And, there are enough of them, and they are vocal enough, to embarrass us all.
Why would you have disagreed with Seth about some atheists are nutjobs. Atheism is just not buying the snake oil of religion and anything else is your own problem. Let them have their own tree house in the garden ermm I mean movement. It will help to keep all the soviet atheists in one place so we can keep our beady eyes on them or just ignore them. I'm an anti-theist anyway so this probably has nothing to do with me. :smoke:
We should be MOST skeptical of ideas we like because we are sufficiently skeptical of ideas that we don't like. Penn Jillette.

There is too much disagreement here. I think we need an atheist test before we let any new atheists in. You can only have a Christmas tree if you place a Jesus on a dinosaur in it.

It’s a completely legitimate question – if you go look at the American Humanist Association, you’ll see a group that does almost everything I could want a movement to do (and I support the AHA gladly and whole-heartedly). It’s just that it doesn’t do one thing that is really important to me: make it clear that I am an atheist.
http://freethoughtblogs.com/ashleymille ... -humanism/

Well, right, dummy. Atheists don't have a monopoly on humanism. Humanism started among Christians in the 19th century, and there are plenty of religious, Buddhist, Christian, and other god-bothering humanists, and there always have been. Atheism is not required for humanism, nor is it conducive to the ends of humanism to limit the American Humanist Association or other such organizations to only atheists.

Are they violating a copyright or trademark/service mark owned by the RDF?

Maybe they got permission, but the A symbol is a mark used in commerce by RDF, and they have trademark rights to it by that usage.
