Meeky, this was uncalled for and you well know the reaction it might provoke.

I think that's why it posted it. Could be wrong though. :ele:

Peter Harrison's account was the first that I encountered. Everything else I've personally read hasn't shifted that bias. And yes, I realize so far its unsubstantiated, so I'm waiting for Dawkin's eventual second response.

My impression was that this was directed at those who chucked him from RDF and, as such, is probably not against our own rules, plus they were a bit fuckin namby pamby. C'MON

It was blatantly baiting and inflammatory, and an across the board insult to anyone from RDF. I'm not saying it was against rules, just that it was a stupid childish thing meant to provoke.

It was against our rules, the play nice one. Considering how many of the RD staff joined our site, I'd say it was very uncalled for and that's why he was given a friendly reminder to be a little less....us....Meeky.

Well yeah, but have you met him? Every forum needs a certain unique individual who can be depended upon to twist certain knickers, and rouse certain rabbles, Meeky is that individual. He is making it clear to the new arrivals that this is not the same saccharine, sanitary forum that they are accustomed to and, as such, is providing a valuable introductory service for which he would be well within his rights to charge, or allow another to charge on his behalf, I would be willing to act in this capacity. Meeky, dude, call me, we'll talk.$$

I think I was well aware of that before his post, and quite fond of those aspects of this board. I'm still hoping it was posted towards the particular individuals and not all newcomers. That being said, there's been enough love that I can ignore it and know we're still welcomed by most here. But that was a pretty shitty thing to read on an already amazingly frustrating (non rdf related) day :?

As usual there are people here who, for some reason, cannot read the content of a message, and instead prefer to get angry about something nobody said.
