I'm over any disagreements we've had in the past. I'd like to think you could move past them too. Like I said, life is too short for such nonsense. I can deal with being excluded from a community I've been a part of for eight years. It's the mischaracterisation of my motives and purpose that I find incredibly upsetting. I am not that guy, and never have been.

Edit: Actually, the quality of debate there is far worse than it was at rd.net at the end. What I really meant is that the mods haven't quite had a Timonen/Dawkins moment. Although, they can't be far from it...

I hate to drag us back to the topic, but has anyone discovered why I was banned yet? I'd be surprised if it had passed without comment over there, but the email I sent 17 days ago remains unanswered. I presume there must be a reason, so one wonders what obstacle prevents me from knowing it.

I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion, most of those people were supportive of the mods - they got on our radar by constantly supporting us in ways that resulted in trolling other users. And obviously cito's posts just never make any sense so nobody knows if he's trying to make a point, supporting or attacking mods, or in the middle of a mental breakdown.

without a specific reason and that was wrong. And he was not the only one to have suffered this fate either. I used to defend
those that this happened to but no longer do. As my view on that is in the minority over there and I have no desire to keep on
repeating it ad infinitum for that serves no purpose so I just let it go. Though it is no secret that specifically one or two other
members might be permabanned. They are members here too so least they have some where to go if they are shown the door

Once again there are the inevitable comparisons between Rat Skep and rationalia both here and over there. Though this I feel is

No. Never. Rationalia was founded a year or two before RDF closed shop. Its aim was to serve as an alternative, especially so after tricky Dicky decided to amputate the Feral Off Topic section. One hint for that can be seen in the forum rulez. Right from the outset they differed markedly from RDF's Forum User Agreement. In contrast, Rational Skepticism started after RDF closed shop. It's aim was to replace that loss. Once again there is a broad hint in the new forum's FUA: Initially it was a carbon copy of RDF's.

Say what? Try reading that again, carefully. They banned people for being supportive of the mods and because some other fuckwit gets angry and can't control his or her temper they banned the other guy?

IMHO, Mr. Samsa is the one who has been truly wronged by the moderation at RatSkep. That someone like Scot Dutchy remains to shit on every thread he posts in while Samsa is essentially driven away with the flimsiest of baseless accusations is a travesty.
