Are Humans Becoming Less Violent?
Review of Stephen Pinker's new book - and his proposition that humans are becoming less violent over time. Interesting.

So that is what Jerry Coyne was talking about.

I quite like me a bit of Pinker. Needs a damned good haircut though.

Excuse me, sir, might I please borrow the contents of your wallet? If you refuse I shall have to ask again, without saying "please".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Humans don't kill people. Long tedious overly verbose and highly obtuse posts kill people.

My dear chap, much though I would like to accommodate your request, I am embarassed to confess that I cannot at this time. I hope you understand, however, that I hold you in the highest regard and wish you the best of luck in your future career. Good day to you.laklak wrote:Excuse me, sir, might I please borrow the contents of your wallet? If you refuse I shall have to ask again, without saying "please".

Late the next day a body was found, showing signs of being ever so slightly disheveled. Upon investigation it was discovered the victim had dozed off in front of the telly.Clinton Huxley wrote:My dear chap, much though I would like to accommodate your request, I am embarassed to confess that I cannot at this time. You know, I've scarcely thrashed anyone for weeks. There may be something in the hypothesis

I hope so. Hope it's not because I'm mellowing. That would be awful.Gawdzilla wrote:I thought it was just because your club is temporarily closed for refurbishment?Clinton Huxley wrote:You know, I've scarcely thrashed anyone for weeks. There may be something in the hypothesis

You need to get out and shop for walking sticks. Don't have to buy one, just shop. That will get the old blood flowing. I know a shop where you can test them out on urchins from the poorhouse. They get extra gruel for the work, so you're doing a public service at the same time.Clinton Huxley wrote:I hope so. Hope it's not because I'm mellowing.
