Some of you ex-pats, current and wannabees, might find this interesting.
Borrowed from
Armchairgeneral.com:
Selous wrote:Does anyone remember this drive by the last government? what became of it? is it used now and what are the current administration likely to alter about it if anything? I ask because an American member here, G David Bock quite rightly asked if there were a British equivelent to the US Full Civil Literacy Exam, found and discussed by many of us
thither. I, however, couldn't find much apart from sites wanting money to teach me how to pass it, and a few questions here and there put up by the likes of the Bloody Broadcasting Communsits. Does anyone know if it can be obtained in its entirety? I gather it's a fair bit different to the test many of us took on the US, and includes more peculiar and diverse cultural things?

Bullshit, I never had to take that test, and some of the answers are wrong.

They are indeed. Some didn't even have the correct answer as an option.

That test was pants. I only got 33%

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

You need more "coaching". You need to cram for that exam.

I think I've been too busy being crammed when there.
And examined, too...

Does that mean I am not shamed of having flunked with only 50% "correct"? Of course, I answered many by random guesstimate, and that didn't pay off.

Even in France... I knew it only because there was a course on international institutions when I was reading law.
